Look !! Winter Has Arrived !!

We had a rainy morning with quite mild temps yesterday then all of a sudden the winds picked up and were blowing hard then it started to snow . Look  Mama ,  Papa said it is a blizzared  out there now and that it was ! I was happy to see the snow but the temps and winds were ever soo cold .  I in our kitchen from our sliding doors was able to take photos of this long awaited winter wonderland that all fell in an afternoon  and continued through out the evening  and over night and it is still blowing and snowing  this morning !

JANUARY 2016 (4 of 33)

I was in awe at the amount of Cardinals I had seen  in the early evening at the feeder in the back by the Cedar hedges their favorite place to sleep and nest in  . I counted at least 10 males and even more females , I figure there was a total of 20 all together . I have never seen that many in one place let alone have had that many in our yard at the feeders ever until this snow fell and the weather changed cold . I tryed from the kitchen sliding door to open it and stick my camera out and take photos as the winds were blowing snow in at me lol !  The day light was fading fast and they are in a dark shaded area but I think the red of the male Cardinals stick ot pretty well amongst the back ground .

Some were on the feeder and some were on the ground and some in the cedars and on the trellis , they kept switching back and forth it was getting hard to take their photos to from where I was lol !

I then let Miggs out and she had fun and was soo happy to finally see snow on the ground . !

This photo of her is  blurry as the camera kept trying to capture the blowing snow flying past  the lens more then Miggs rolling having fun  but I think it adds to the snow storm we were having as she thought it was great lol !

I think Miggs has been waitng patiently for this cold white stuff to fall lol !

Miggs always  gets  a face full of snow  as she shovels through it happily lol !

A few times  we couldn’t see across to the valley the winds and snow were blowing that much .

Well we got our snow finally as you see here and I am all for winter wonderland photos  but just hoping the roads will be good for those who have to travel on them like Papa . I dont know how long the snow on the ground will last as it is more of a dusting  then a depth in accumulation . Well I am off to check on the birdies feeders and make sure all have plenty of food as our winter here has finally come , I noticed one suet feeder needs to be refilled so off to do that .

                                                                         Until next time .

I wish I was as enthusiastic about the snow as MIggs is. It got frigid overnight, with snow flurries today, but nothing like you have. But there is always later on and tomorrow is calling for 80% snow. But at least the sun is out today but the wind is making it so-o-o cold.
Love the cardinals and they stand out so much more when there is at the snowy background.

Miggs loves her snow! She is usually my favorite of your pictures but the snow on the fence rails is my favorite today. It just captures the essence of winter in my book.

All are beautiful.

Miggs looks thoroughly happy!

We had the winds in the night, and the temperatures really dropped.

Looks pretty from inside. We have had snow for over a month and I am tired of it, I want green grass again soon. Maybe I should get a Miggs so someone is happy about snow
