I Can See The Changes In The Field & Wild Life

We have a lovely large field beside us that is just flourishing with wild plants and many different types of pollinator's and this time of year all is busy and I see the changes within the field and the wild life .

             We are lucky enough to be on the migration path of lots of different creatures . Our Oriels have taken off on their journey now as well as the  Warblers , Purple Martins , Barn Swallows, Tree Swallows, House Wrens , Grosbeaks and Song and Field Sparrows , our hummers will stay till the middle of September as they now are fueling up at the feeders like crazy preparing for their journey .  The Blue jays , Chickadees, Woodpeckers and Nut Hatch have returned already .

I have been seeing the odd Monarch here and there but I am hoping to see more  soon as they pass through here on their way to a waystation at Point Peele National park that's just a 2 hour drive away from us and the most south end of Ontario you can get.

Despite the lack of rain we have had I have found lots of fungi every where  from inside old logs and tree stumps to in the grass of the lawn , I guess the high humidity has been enough for them to flourish .

Lots of Milkweed plants with their pods in the fields preparing to spread their seeds soon by bursting open with lots of fluffy white cotton batches .

Golden rod everywhere and the wild Asters are starting to bloom to . The temps have cooled and the humidity has broken for now , the crickets and grass hoppers have been singing day and night and the mornings are a bit darker and the sun sets a bit earlier now to , The gardens are coming to an end with some plants whist others are blooming as they take over for the coming season . I cant believe September is just around the corner .  I  can see the changes in the field and the wild life .

A Little Bit Of This & That

Hello

I have been busy with family visiting on the weekends these days as our oldest son and his girlfriend have been popping down more now as they only live an hour and half away now , so we have been getting together with their doggie Duke as well and we all have been doing family fun things , like going to the dog beach that's just a few minuets drive from us.

 

That takes a lot out of us and the dogs as we all play for hours in the water . But its soo much fun for all .

Then in the evenings after a BBQ we would sit out on the patio porch  and play games , like cards and Guessing games  so fun .

The weather has been up and down it was cool and fall like for a bit but now it is back to hot and humid . The gardens are slowly coming to an end as we have had very dry conditions this summer and hose water just doesn't always seem to cut it for them no matter how much  water them .

The wild flowers of summers end are starting to flourish like the Golden Rod in this field beside us as are the wild purple Aster's are starting  to bloom to .

The moon the other night was pretty all though not quite a full moon when I took the photo , it was about 98% viewing .

We had some rain early this morning but there was more thunder and bad lightning then there was rain and Miggs did not like that at all as she is afraid of  really loud booms but she just snuggled in  with me as Papa was already up and off to work  and Miggs and I were still in bed  . Well she was on the bed on her blanket .                                            I was in my Jammies as this was at 5am ,  pardon Miggs messy  bed hair , I mean mine  lol !

The weeks have ben going fast as has the months my gosh it will be September already soon WOW ! summer just fly's by to fast now doesn't it ?!

I was having a problem with  comments going to my email for quite some time . I did a past post about it  as was so many others who use blogger , the good news is I figured it out and fixed it with in the blogger  settings , so all is back to normal for me again as  comments now come to my email as before , I like to reply to as many as I can but some I can not as they come in as a no reply comment as they are sent by noreply which means the reader who is commenting   and sending  it , there has to be a personal email address visible in the sender of the comment Bloggers profile. Otherwise, the email address is shown as noreply-comment@blogger.com. and I can not reply . I do thank you all for taking the time to pop by and read my blog and do so enjoy your comments . I would like to thank you all for Miggs Birthday wishes last week and for our Anniversary wishes to .

Happy Birthday To Miggs

It is Miggs Birthday today and she is 9 years old .

We saw an add in Kijiji  puppies for sale just a hour away from us and loved the photos we saw with the add . There were 9 pups all together  and all were soo cute , So on the first weekend of  October we went to see them . They were born on a dairy farm and they were just 6 weeks old , now your not supposed to take pups away from the Mama till 8 weeks or more but this was a desperate owner as the Mama pushed the entire litter away and didn't want anything to do with them and the owner could not handle them all as they had a lot on their plate already with the dairy farm also this was their dogs first litter an oops from a male farm dog up the road apparently . Any who , we get there and they had the pups in the farm house kitchen all running about and oh my what cuties they all were , I wanted all of them . I sat down in the kitchen just loving all these pups and Papa was playing with one of them , then this little one comes up to me and sits right on my foot and looks up at me with these big brown teddy bear doe eyes with a misty blue huge in them and that was that she was up in my arms in no time and she snuggled her face under my hair on my shoulder and fell asleep  ,well that was the one , the little puppy that we both fell in love with and we brought her home to be part of our family and she has been our fur baby ever since .

The tongue to this day she still sleeps with her tongue out and will just sit there with it out to lol !

Misty AKA Miggs has been such a fun loving friendly girl from the start and has kept me company for many years whilst Papa is at work and we both love our walks we have been taking for many years each day weather permitting of course lol ! Misty has been through a lot physically with her back legs but she has been and always is a trouper and a happy go lucky girl , all the neighbors just love her and when it is time for school Miggs has to be there to see the kids get her cuddles and watch them get on the bus then she is happy , a few times she wanted to get on the bus with them silly girl . I bet she would make a wonderful class mate all though she can get a little nosey at what one is doing lol !  Miggs is a excellent supervisor to as she has done this many times for Papa and I .

Miggs from six weeks old to now , I have never had a dog that looks change soo much over the years but she has always had the same character , loving , fun , happy and loves to play go for walks  go to the dog beach  do her tricks for treats and cuddle .                                                                            Always the cuddle puppy even now .

Miggs loves to play all though she gets tired faster now she still is a trouper and has a few fetches every day !

Yes a year later after the little puppy stage , see what I mean about the changes in her looks WOW !

It seemed as each year she got older the more prominent her mixed breeds showed . She is mixed with Bearded Collie , Wheaten Terrier , Golden Retriever and Larger hound and maybe more but these are the characters and looks of these breeds that show in her .

Always such a fun happy girl and my buddy and from day one she has loved posing or showing off for the camera .

                                                 And her dignity has always been well non existent lol !

Above photo  is before we started getting her shaved down a bit she was 2 years old .

Misty has been such a wonderful dog and she loves everyone she meats and always has a tail wag for them . She is the star of this blog for sure and the star in our hearts .

Blogger Is At It Again

Hello all   . 

For those of you like myself who use blogger  and have comments go to your email  , have you noticed that blogger has been messing with email notification for months now . I have .. and it is driving me nuts , I have tried everything they and others have suggested and at times it works but other times it doesn't GRRR ! I mean there has been so many reports on blogger HELP about it and one would think that would be the push for them to get with the program and do something about it like fix it maybe would be a good idea ! Yes I can go to blogger settings and go to the  comments and do it from there but  I like having your comments go to my email as I like to moderate and even reply to you all so you know I am actually reading your wonderful comments but now all there is in the comments that do sometimes  come to my email is subscribe to them   YIKES ! I cant even reply  , it isn't set up like it was with the choice of publish, delete or reply which really gets my goat that I cant reply .  So much more work for us bloggers to do and what gets on my tick   is not all of our followers or blogger friends get a notification of new posts . This is frustrating to say in the least . I would love to have my own website set up for my blog but most are complicated and costly that's why I use blogger free and  easy well was easy  not any more with all this going on .

I guess I shouldn't complain as it is a free domain but really , they should get their act together especially as they have soo many users they should be getting things sorted better and faster to keep all their users happy and staying with them . 

Oh well just thought I would get it out of my system that its driving me squirrely  .

Lazy Summer Days

Hello all , I hope you all have been enjoying this summer and having lots of summer lazy days , I know I have been lol . I have been puttering about weeding, watering and dead heading plants in my gardens going for early morning walks with our Miggs as well as taking lots of photos in awe of this seasons wonders .

                                                          Nothing like a pretty sunrise to start the day with is there ?!..

                                                                              An afternoon of pool partying.

                                        And watching the butterfly's and moths collect the nectar from my flowers !

                                                                 These pics are of  a white spotted Skipper moth .

                           OH CANADA !!  our new flag and higher flag pole is on our front lawn waving with pride .

                        I have two Rose of Sharon's blooming like mad this year , a breed of hibiscus they are .

                     Mrs Robing the other evening was collecting beetles for the her last of the seasons brood .

Our crab apple tree growing berries  for the fall season already so that the migrating birds can feast on their way through !

The clouds and their formations have been wonderful the past few days as they float over our valley like 3D cotton balls .

                                                                                     I just love clouds like this .

The hummers have all finished nesting and are fueling up and will be for the next few weeks before they take off on their journey south .

The Monarchs have been traveling through to and the odd few stop by to have a nibble . The field beside us will soon be blooming with Goldenrod and wild Asters and then all kinds of pollinators will be fluttering and buzzing about it . I cant wait

I cant believe how fast the days and moths have been going or have gone  the summer is just flying by , we haven't had lots of rain this summer either has been quite dry for us as usual the rain clouds seem to horse shoe around us  but I have managed to keep our gardens happy and blooming regardless .  Talking about the summer going by so fast why I have noticed some trees leaves already beginning to change .

           May be just the tip wayyy up there on our 150+ year old Manitoba Maple but its a start to the next season to come .
