We woke this morning just after 7 am , it was still dark but I could see over the valley forest to the south east this beautiful sky full of orangey pink colour traveling through the clouds .
It was a promise of another sunny day .
Well … the sun then disappeared for a bit there and more cloud came over and the sun was some what gone but then the clouds thinned out and the sun was peeking through a hazy sky just enough to be felt still and brighten things up , so Miggs and I went for our walk ! We went on our usual route around our valley and then took the road that travels along the river and over the old bridge . The river is frozen with a thin layer of ice in the center but thicker near the edges and it was making a cracking and banging noise as the waters moved and flowed under the ice it was spooky but amazing at the same time . The forest is bare and brown and mostly quiet except for the river cracking and banging every now and then , we are very snowless here still . I didn’t take my camera either as there really isn’t much to photograph and the cold air drains the batteries faster to , I have a double or as we call it duel battery pack attached to my camera and always have two more batteries fully changed in the house and just switch them over when needed but still the cold takes it’s toll on camera batteries faster then in the warmer weather !
When we got back from our walk and played fetch for a bit in the back yard Miggs got up on her swing as the temps are quite pleasant +3°C or 37°F and the winds are calm with the sun shining now out in full force as she is watching the yard and resting from our walk and just enjoying the fresh air . The birdies are busy at the feeders more so then normal today as later we are to have rain and a mix of all sorts for most of the weekend ! The birdies tell us when nasty weather or rain is on its way by the frantic feasting rituals they do at the feeders , kind of trying to fill up their tummies as much as possible before the weather stops them for a while and they have to take shelter ! Miggs has an appointment with her groomer in town tomorrow to have a bath , get her nails trimmed and trim all her shagginess off and get her all cleaned up , she loves the car ride there and back, the groomers is in the store called The Family Pet where we also get all our bird seed from so Miggs gets to investigate the place before and after she gets groomed and gets treats from them , she sees our groomer and straight up on the table she goes with excitement and that’s when we leave to do some shopping in town , maybe grab a bite to eat , then we pick her up about 3 hours later and off we go home with a nice smelling clean pooch till spring when we do it all over again lol !
Until next time
Have a good weekend !

Hi CG ... Thanks for visiting. Look forward to following you too.
Have a tea riffic weekend..
Oh, I bet Miggs smells good. I love when Eli comes home from the groomer. We are back into cold cloudy days and days like these get me down. I want to work outside in the warm sunshine. I probably should live in Florida. :)
I love it when a pooch has been to the groomers, all soft and smelling gorgeous! I loved the way you described the ice on the lake, we have only just had our first frost as it has been so mild which has produced the most awful rain and flooding for counties north of us. It feels like the UK is sinking! Have a wonderful and fragrant weekend xx
Cold drains the batteries on my camera as well much faster, and it's not that cooperative in the winter, so I've switched over to my mobile phone camera for the duration. Miggs looks restful!
Afternoon, oh love the clean smell of the dogs after a bath. Very cold here this weekend, will stay in and be cozy.Blessings Francine.
Miggs looks quite comfy on the sofa, and probably enjoys the cool weather as well. My Polly enjoys her bath a lot, so first dog I've ever had to not try to jump out of the sink.
Miggs winter coat in coming in good.
Have a blessed weekend.
I think there was a beautiful sunrise all across southern Ontario today.
My goodness what an incredible sunrise!!! That is so beautiful isn't it. Hope that Miggs enjoys the groomers visit! xx
Gorgeous sky capture, I always love your sweet MIggs! Happy weekend!
The sunrise was beautiful Elaine and it's a shame those power lines got on the way! No snow here as well since the couple of inches over a week ago, but that is still hanging around as the temls were cold afterwards. Miggs knows how to enjoy the sunshine always!
That is a very lovely pre- sunrise even if the follow up wasn't all that it could be.
I did not know that about the batteries! Thanks for the info...
I also have 2 batteries for mine...nothing more annoying than a dead battery....
Enjoy your weekend...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
