WEEKEND HAPPENINGS

We went to Papa’s Mom & Dad’s for dinner to celebrate Dad’s 65th birthday yesterday, Papa’s sister and her family came down they live two hours away , we just live next door to mom & dad. It was snowing again yesterday so hard you couldn’t see across the fields or the back of yard , it was soo pretty huge flakes and they were sticky it made the land look like a winter mystical wonderland.

Mom was so busy getting things prepared for dinner and for the arrival of family she asked us as we live next door if we could bake the cake, of course we can, so Papa went over to get the mix and pans and Papa and I baked the cake together, then Papa decorated it ,I think it looks wonderful, a good job Papa. The funny part was carrying the cake over in a sleet snow storm carrying an umbrella so the cake wouldn’t get wet and try not to trip in the snow and dump the cake  ,that was tricky and Papa was comical in pretending he was going to slip and drop it, such a kidder he is! We had dinner , did gifts  and Papa took photos had cake and all was great!

Today Family will be going home later today and we are going over to say our good bye’s. This morning Papa went out to snow blow path ways again, we must of got at least a foot of snow on top of all the snow we already had . Then after that Papa did some photography with his new huge lens that he got a Sigma 150-500 mm WOW that's a big lens.  All in all it was a great weekend so far . The rest of today we are just puttering around and enjoying what ever comes our way !Dads 65th (1 of 4)

Hi Elaine, looks like the family had a wonderful birthday celebration despite the nasty weather outdoors - it was inside for sure, especially with the candles on that great looking (and colorful) cake. Hope you are staying warm. That new 150-500mm lens takes some great shots too!
