TO QUIET

It’s to quiet now. We took Miggy to the vets to get her bandages changed and checked, all is good but they preferred  her to go with out anymore bandages to let the sore air out , it is smaller and closed up now but still has a lot of rawness to it  and needs more care.

We agreed but they also said I would have to put cream on her sore every day and her cone would have to be on all the time. Well I didn't like that idea as for me to handle putting cream on her every day would be hard for me to do on my own as she is a strong dog and very excitable as the vet found out what it took when she put the cream on and it took both her and Papa to hold her plus I said that she will rub the cone on it as she did whilst it was bandaged, then we said we have carpeting and if she was to laydown on it like she does with out it bandaged  she will tare the sore and make it worse and it is just mending nicely and I would have to watch her even closer this way.

I have already been with her day and night for 6 weeks now and it has been hard for her and me . The vet said that if we wanted we could leave her there for the week ,she will have round the clock care with out the bandages to let the sore heal more and faster and they will even give her a bath and spa treatment and will walk her every day, well I kind of liked the idea and kind of not, liked it cause I know she is in good hands and will heal faster  so she can get back to being her old self and not because I cant stand not having her home with me but I decided to let her stay for her so she will heal faster  .

When we left I cried cause I hate leaving her there as this will be the longest she has ever been away from us and it has been a long haul for her but if it helps her heal better and faster then that's what matters. It may sound cruel and selfish to say this but after 6 weeks of care day and night and being stuck in doors every day  has taken it’s toll on me and every one has said to me today that it will help her heal faster and give me a break, so as I write this I miss my Miggy being beside me or just here but I know she is safe and getting more spoilt by the vets and the wonderful young assistants there as they all adore her.

Until next time my blogger buddy's  , Hope you have a great day !

Oh....I feel for you and know exactly how you feel...some years ago we had to leave one of our guys at the vets for 2 weeks, he had to have fluid IV therapy....he had chronic renal failure....anyway, it was so very hard to leave him. We tried to go for visits, but he would get so upset that our vet said it would be best if we not come....she will be home before you know it!

It's tough when you have to leave a beloved pet but as you said taking this step will help her heal faster and then you can love her all the more once she is home an better. And, as someone else suggested perhaps you could call or visit, althought the visit might be harder for all of you when it comes time to leave.
