A Busy Weekend , Hot & Humid

We had our tree done all trimmed up and evened out so no more weight will contribute to her toppling over now . Papa and I spent the weekend cleaning up the majority of it up and colleting good fire wood for next year .  The tree has lost a lot of its shading for us and the birds but it will however still start sprouting new branches and leaves over the next few years as it has been rejuvenated by the trimming  .

It has been hot and humid since Friday here and we have been taking lots of  water  and lemonade breaks in the heat as we have been out in it .  We finally got some well needed rain last night and a thunderstorm . Today is a rest day as our bodies are achy lol !  I have been popping outside today taking a few photos here and there !

All the space in the sky there you see used to be shaded by tree !

The guys that trimmed and cut off the big huge parts that fell off said she looks a bit naked now  yup that she does but all that will fill in with new strong branches .

After a few hundred years I guess the rot just got to it !

But thankfully the rest of the tree is ok !

Mind you the birds seem to act funny when they try to land on what was once there and realizes they cant lol . The Woodpeckers have been feasting on the bugs in the wood  on the ground now that caused the rot . And Miggs has been keeping an eye on them all .

The asters look particularly lovely. Those cloud shots are dramatic. We did get rain in the night, which we desperately needed.

Even though we are now apartment dwellers and no longer need to tend to our own yard, I enjoy seeing the beauty created and maintained in yours, Elaine.
