Air Show , Part 1

Happy Canada day to all our fellow Canadians .

Papa and I went to  St Thomas air port   to watch a wonderful and jaw dropping Great Lakes International Air Show .

It was awesome . I have been to many air shows over the years but this one was the best . It was all paid for by Papa’s work and I got to meet a lot of the people Papa works with . It was a day of fun sun  good food and awesome folk. We were in the VIP  tent and area front row seats to the runway !

I didn't take my camera cause I wanted Papa to be the photographer for this and the photos and video he took was fantastic . He put some of his fave photos and videos together yesterday and made a DVD  to music . There was this one Pilot  Sean Tucker who was amazing in his acrobatic red plane named Oracle Challenger III  . He is the best in the world   and it was fantastic that he was talking to the audience  and fans from the cockpit as he was in the middle of his stunts .If you would like to see the DVD  that Papa did please go to  .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jLDBTiaEaE&fmt=22

Here are some of the photos he took as well !

They also had some wonderful old Biplane and Triplane from the great war of 1914 to 1918 they have been kept in tip top condition !

This big beast is a cargo plane the CC 130 Hercules . It is used for troop transport and  search and rescue . As you can see from the photo we were fairly close to the runway !

This pin up girl  is the B17 flying fortress  named the Sentimental Journey ! Introduced in  active service in 1938 .

air show (70)

This is the P51 C Mustang a long range escort fighter . Flown by the famous Tuskegee Airmen . There is a movie about the history of this plane and it’s pilots called  Red Tails . We have seen it and it is a good movie .

We had a wonderful time and to this day I still want to go up in one of these beauties !

                                                                  Part 2 tomorrow !

Until then hope you have a great day

                                                                                &

There is something breathtaking about being at a air show, knowing that those machines are bigger, faster, and more impressive than anything we have ever seen in the skies before.
