Strutting My Stuff

Yeah know the saying walk a mile in my shoes ?  well how about walking steps ! and I did walk a mile today but in my shoes lol !

AUGUST 2015 (3 of 3)

up and down the hills of our valley . Man am I sweating  yes I just got back and am blogging about it lol ! Miggs is tired to and right now fast asleep on the patio lol   but she kept up with me and every time she stopped I kept taking steps to make up for  her stopping or I just kept going and she would catch up to me lol  I walk her on a long retractable leash  makes it easier  for us both . I even got a bronze medallion on the side  as I did more then 5000 steps WOOHOO ! The Pedometer  app keeps all the info from each day in a log book  , calories used ,  kilometers or miles and of course the amount of steps one takes . I have a  harness with a clip that is on it in the pics so light weight and easy to carry  for the phone so I clip it on the waist of my pants and off we go . . 2.3km is 1.4 miles . We left the house at 8:30 am and got home at 9:45am  an hour and fifteen minuets  FEW!   Another good thing is I also have the phone with me  in case of an emergency and a pretty good camera at my fingertips if I need one lol ! That was  Papa’s suggestion and idea really lol !

AUGUST 2015 (2 of 3)

Now that the mornings are cooler and I have this  Pedometer app on my phone I can challenge my self every day by taking more steps and going further  . I love to walk and enjoy the sights and sounds as I am walking in our valley up and down the roads and hills  and having my buddy Miggs with me and it is pretty quiet to in the mornings .   These shoes are great as well not expensive at all yes from Wally world , they are made by Dr Scholls  and are the most comfy shoes I have ever had for walking they are padded , light weight the fabric breaths  and have the Dr Scholls  pressure pads and what not built right in them ! Talk about comfort  , my feet feel awesome in these and I tell you I pound the pavement in shoes when walking long distances . So this is my new thing now , I mean I’m not getting any younger so I have to keep it all in shape , well ok for now a bit pear shaped but working on that lol !

Until next time,  Go for a nice walk  it does the body and soul good .

I just told my hubby we need to get this app on my phone. We have been walking two miles a day, one mile downhill and one mile uphill, and it has been so good for us!

That's great! I had worried about you being out and about with no phone.
If I walk twenty steps it's a reason to celebrate right now.I was wondering...is Migg's step count higher because she has twice as many legs?!

Hello, have the app on the phone is a great idea. I know a lot of walkers have the fitbit to track their steps. I have been trying to do more walking lately too, if not outside I do my treadmill walking. Well done!

Woo Hoo, way to go. I have a couple of different apps on my phone for walking, one of them will sync to MyFitnessPal program that I also use. I just find it sucks the battery on the phone.

I've never used pedometers, let alone as an app, but I walk a lot in the day.

That is really cool! And your shoes are cute, too. Walking is great. You get to see many things as you go along. Have fun with this!

Congrats on doing that Elaine, way to go. What a great App...I need to look that one up.

It's way too hot to walk here, so I have been using the treadmill which is in the basement in the mornings. And even then sweating like crazy...but at least I am doing exercise.

Keep it up.

Good for you.

I wonder how many steps I take during a day. A phone would be handy for that. We get no signal here. One day my nephew was here and I saw him standing on the end of the boat with his phone in air...still had to go to the top of the hill to talk.

Kept up the good work, no harm done and there may be some nice side effects

Hi there, I am going to have to check and see if I can get this app-it looks really good. I walked a mile today but need to kick it up because I ate too much when our friends were here. Good job!!!

I wear a pedometer every day, and I find it even works for riding a bike. Mind you at the end of the day I sometimes don't want to go for another walk to make my target steps!
