Our Favourite Place To Walk Part 1

Miggs and I went for a two hour walk yesterday morning to our favourite area a road with lots of woods and pretty scenery  just a  few miles or kilometers away from our house   and is some what  one part of the top of our valley  ,  I took my camera this time and we both had fun .   WARNING !!  photo heavy .

 June 2015 (1 of 87)

Miggs is always so excited to go for walks  as am I , we never know what we will see or hear in our valley !  which reminds me we heard a fox screaming as we started off the driveway  .

June 2015 (2 of 87)

This is the scenery from the road beside us and all  this leads to what we call the back 40 of our house !

June 2015 (3 of 87)

The field beside us is full of wild grasses  , flowers , milk weed and just  is soo pretty and smells wonderful to !

June 2015 (5 of 87)

That ‘s our house tucked in there . You can just see Papa’s work shop roof ! The tree to the right is our big 150+ old maple tree  it is soo big it covers half that side of the yard and our house from the road  along with the cedar hedge  our own little cove we have there !!

June 2015 (8 of 87)

On our way up the road to our destination we have these two geese I assume they are a Mr & Mrs who like to take a early morning flight together over the field  every day .

June 2015 (13 of 87)

Aw yes , Miggs the tree hugger . This tree is  her favourite tree to see squirrels in when walk past it every day !

June 2015 (14 of 87)

A little wooded area of tall pine trees on our way there !

June 2015 (15 of 87)

We have a little park in the main strip of the village that is beside the river and it is a lovely place to wonder !

June 2015 (16 of 87)

June 2015 (17 of 87)

Here we have the river  called the  Big Otter river and yes I have seen an Otter or two in here over the years lol !

June 2015 (20 of 87)

This river is all natural as is all the forest and habitat that surrounds it ! It is a pretty tranquil place to sit  and if your patient enough  one can see some wild life in the woods like deer , racoons and more and if you can catch a glimpse of water foul amongst the trees either on the banks or in the water  there are ducks  geese  Herrings and more  and yes fish to .People here fish and travel  this river in their canoes , this river travels all the way from up north from Hudson's Bay all the way down to Lake Erie   a distance of over 400 kilometers or 248 miles long !

June 2015 (22 of 87)

I found some fungi on a tree by the river bank and just had to photograph it as the lighting was pretty  and strange looking as it was half in the shade and sunlight  touched it to  !

June 2015 (24 of 87)

Pretty Wild flowers and grasses everywhere along the river  banks  and in the ditches by the roads .

June 2015 (30 of 87)

Even odd bugs came out to play and enjoy the scenery .

June 2015 (34 of 87)

The forest and overgrowth of bushes and trees have taken over the river banks this year !

June 2015 (36 of 87)

Here we are up to the top of part of our valley  ,the road  called Chute line  that Miggs and I love to walk and explore  .

June 2015 (40 of 87)

There are deep woods on either side of this road and one can stand very still and quiet  and  listen and all you hear is rusting on the forest floor of all kinds of animals .

June 2015 (37 of 87)

There are swampy/ marshy parts , a little water falls hidden deep with in the area  a bit tricky to get to but one day I will , you can hear the water fall from the road  and with all the nature sounds with it , it is wonderful !

June 2015 (38 of 87)

June 2015 (44 of 87)

The ditches were just filled with so many beautiful wild flowers !

June 2015 (59 of 87)

Miggs has a favourite stream or crick as I call it to drink from and paddle in there !

Well I don't want to over load ya all or make this to long so I will stop here and continue part 2 of  our Favourite Place To Walk tomorrow !  Hope you will join us again tomorrow in part 2 .

                                                                           Until then my friends  ..

What a lovely walk, and thanks for taking me along today. I won't have time to stroll at all today, so will remember your pics. I went hiking the other day and next week will post some of those pics, in a series also.

Looks like you had a lovely time together on your walk. Miggs seems to be enjoying it immensely, barking at the squirrel. You did find some unusual things along the way and it must have been a beautiful day from your photographs.

You have a nice place for you and Miggs to walk, lots to see, hear and smell...paradise for a dog! Any bears in the woods?
We had a gentle rain this morning and the birds have been singing quite loudly in the backyard - I think because the serviceberries are ripening and then it will be a free for all!

Lovely long walk with gorgeous scenery. Those are pretty Dames Rocket wild flowers, mine seem to be almost finished and have spread more into the neighbours yard than mine ... oops. Love the fungi photo. It is trying to rain a little here, just the odd drip coming down every now and then.

What a lovely walk I had with the two of you. The back 40....I haven't heard that in a long time. Miggs picture of tree hugging is the best. I so wish we had more milkweed living around, maybe I'll spread the seeds this year if I find any (childhood thing) this sure was a tranquil place to sit and visit. Just think of the many who traveled this river years ago? Thanks for the walk.
