Is It Fall Or Spring ?

Yesterday morning  the weather was a bit frosty but it ended up to be so nice sunny and warm felt like a spring day and the temps were even spring like .

Fall 2013 (15 of 15)-2

Miggs and I spent the day outside playing ball and I taking photos after we went for a long walk .

Fall 2013 (8 of 15)-2

It was so warm even the cabbage moths were around where I thought with the colder days before I was sure they had gone ,, guess not .. even the crickets were out chirping .

Fall 2013 (10 of 15)-2

Some of the summer birds are still here guess they new it was going to warm up and bring out the bugs again so they can feast before they take off for the season .

Fall 2013 (14 of 15)-2

I saw a few wasps barely hanging on moving in slow motion . I think the weather has mixed up all of mother nature I mean it is the end of October and we should be cold and frosty every day . I feel our climate and balance of weather is on a big flip around where places that used to be warm are becoming cooler and vice versa .

Fall 2013 (2 of 15)-2

One never knows as the Juncos are back ground feeding . I wonder if where he came from was warming up and he figured he would come here where it  should be cold ! I often wonder how and what goes on with nature an how they know when to leave and return depending on the weather  even when the weather and climate is topsy turby .

Fall 2013 (12 of 15)-2

Sparrows are with us all year round so no leaving or returning for them . ?? what is the difference from weather and climate you ask ?  Well  ..I will give you some in site here  just in case your interested !

               From NASA !

The difference between weather and climate is a measure of time. Weather is what conditions of the atmosphere are over a short period of time, and climate is how the atmosphere "behaves" over relatively long periods of time.
When we talk about climate change, we talk about changes in long-term averages of daily weather. Today, children always hear stories from their parents and grandparents about how snow was always piled up to their waists as they trudged off to school. Children today in most areas of the country haven't experienced those kinds of dreadful snow-packed winters, except for the Northeastern U.S. in January 2005. The change in recent winter snows indicate that the climate has changed since their parents were young.
If summers seem hotter lately, then the recent climate may have changed. In various parts of the world, some people have even noticed that springtime comes earlier now than it did 30 years ago. An earlier springtime is indicative of a possible change in the climate.

Fall 2013 (29 of 49)

The difference between weather and climate is that weather consists of the short-term (minutes to months) changes in the atmosphere. Most people think of weather in terms of temperature, humidity, precipitation, cloudiness, brightness, visibility, wind, and atmospheric pressure, as in high and low pressure. In most places, weather can change from minute-to-minute, hour-to-hour, day-to-day, and season-to-season. Climate, however, is the average of weather over time and space. An easy way to remember the difference is that climate is what you expect, like a very hot summer, and weather is what you get, like a hot day with pop-up thunderstorms.

I myself find weather and climate  fascinating ! .

Well today it is warm gloomy, rainy and windy .. temps will hit a high of  19°C or 66°F and feel much warmer  more like  23 °C  or  73°F   very warm for us this time of year . I to have noticed the climate change over the years from when I was kid  from season to season !

So today the girls and I are just staying in puttering well I am they are sleeping lol !

Until next time .. Have a good day and a Happy Halloween !

Interesting post today. I also enjoy weather lore and keeping an eye on the sky. We are about to get the same system that you have overnight and tomorrow with rain, wind and warm temperatures. At least it's not a hurricane. Funny that there haven't been any destructive and very few hurricanes this season. A good thing but it's been very quiet on that front.

If the rain keeps falling we will need an Ark soon. I am very happy it is rain and not the other word.

We didn't get the mild temperatures you had yesterday and today it is pouring and pouring ... a very dull end to October.

Wonderful photos! It amazes me how much it still warms up and tomorrow is November! And like you, I still see some bugs out there moving around, albeit it a little slower. We turn the heating on at night because the temperature drops very low, but during the day it's off because it's much too warm for it! Crazy days! But I'll take that for now. Winter may just be a little shorter this year.
