A Nice Long Weekend

This weekend that passed was our Thanks giving weekend . We had our family Thanksgiving on Sat at the in laws , good food , chitchat and laughter . The weather was wonderful for most of the weekend . Sunday was a rainy dreary day so Papa and I puttered and watched movies for most of the day .

Yesterday was lovely sunny and warm with cool breezes so we decided to do some work out side . Papa  cleaned the  gutters out as they needed it   .

Fall 2013 (1 of 27)

Played a bit with Miggs when he was done the gutters .

Fall 2013 (13 of 27)

Got  some wood cut to length for our wood stove and moved for the rest to be stored !

Fall 2013 (20 of 27)

That all took most of the morning . Then we stopped for lunch and had a bit of a relax by the camp fire .

Fall 2013 (25 of 27)

The scraps of wood that are no good for the wood stove we burn in the camp fire !

Fall 2013 (7 of 27)

The bees are still about all though very slow and dopey but they are still collecting nectar from what flowers they can !

The Robins are still here gorging on the berries of our tree ! This morning I counted 10 bobbing in and out of the tree as they pecked at the berries !

Fall 2013 (1 of 1)-2

I tried to get photos of a few in the same area of the tree but they seem to hide them selves pretty good amongst the branches full of berries !

Well that was our nice  long weekend  , Papa back to work now BOOHOO !.  I like having him home with us but that’s the way it goes here  ? The weather again today is lovely and sunny so Miggs and I are off for our walk !

Until next time  … have a snap happy day !

Hi, Sounds like a perfect weekend! Love your pics. Our birds are nowhere to be seen-must be too cold already. One of the nice thing about retirement is that you can have slow lazy days in winter and stay inside. Glad you had a great Thanksgiving.
Hugs, Noreen

I thought all our robins had left a while ago. Yesterday while riding to physical therapy I noticed more of them. Only thing I can figure out is its a stop over as they migrate from north of here on their way south. Happy Tuesday!!

Sounds like you had a fun weekend with some relaxing moments thrown in. Those are always welcome! The bees sure are out and about quite long this year. The garden is full of them. Hardworking - and adorable - critters. I love seeing them hanging around. And I've spotted some robins this past week. There aren't that many, and they don't stick around for more than a day or two, so I'm wondering if they're just passing through. They are such a joy, and I will certainly miss them when they're completely gone until the spring!

Your weekend sounds like ours. :) We had a lot of robins around here yesterday pulling worms out of the grass. It's so nice to see them before they head south. Two years ago there was one around here in mid-November. I don't know if he survived or flew on to warmer climes. Have a good week!

Looks and sounds like your thanksgiving was real nice. We had a quiet one.Hubby and I. All my grown kids and their Grandkids all had cottage boarding up with one family.End of summer. Chores.

Another to Fathers place since Popa's wife died . He would be very lonely. So oldest son went up with wife and the boys to make it be not so lonely for him with the family.

Then other son was at end of yearly camp for summer.

My oldest Granddaughter called she had strep throat and is off with exams this week. Feels so yukie even with antibiotics.

So now making her a tiny page lacey cover to mail her away where she is living outside University. Put in my nice pictures of fall foe her. She will like that. A surprise for her.

I come in-between that and see who has come in to comment back.

So thank you also for your re.

Got up late today and been just relaxing too much. Ha,ha.
