A little history in our village !
The Edison Museum !
Vienna
a small Ontario village with a long history
Vienna, Ontario, is located on the banks of the Big Otter River, and has been described as "a blink of a town"!
According to the last census - "Vienna is a small town of 566 residents in the Otter Valley"
This village has a history dating back to 1811, but its main claim to fame is that it was the birth place of one of the Grandfathers of Thomas Alva Edison - inventor of the electric light-bulb.
Thomas Edison was a prolific inventor and held over 1,000 patents.
While reading a Biography of this amazing man, I was gratified to learn that he only attended school for a period of about three months, and other than that he was educated at home by his mother - wow - Thomas Edison was Home-Schooled!
Did I say how much I like the little barns in this village ?
Just behind this property is a part od our lovely valley with the river known as the Otter river behind it the same river that runs through the park I showed in my last post of our walk . I can see this valley from my kitchen window every day as well but walking it is soo much better !
So many lovely smelling crunchy leaves every where now !
Home again , Home again jigaty , jig ! Had that said to me as kid every time we retuned home from somewhere !
Miggy and I always enjoy our walk through and around our village but she does like coming home to her yard and toys !
Our hummers have gone now and the only thing that's supping up the nectar in the feeders are the wasps .
Another of my fall flowered bushes have just bloomed !
Well that's , that . Hope you enjoyed the last part of our walk and the tid bit of history we have . Believe me there’s a lot more history to this little village, so much more we have our own Historical book that goes back as far as 1855 .
This weekend is our Thanksgiving weekend and a hard time for me, as 4 years ago at this time of year my mum passed away suddenly . ( RIP) mum we love you always and miss you dearly !
Until next time , Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all Canadians out in blog land and a wonderful weekend to you all !

Interesting story about the museum !
Elaine, Best wishes to you and Ken and your family on this Thanksgiving weekend. Sorry to read about your mom's untimely passing.
Also, I enjoyed the 2-post walk thru your village. We have a population of 500 here.
A beautiful walk. You live in such a pretty area. So sorry about your mom. It's not easy losing someone so special. Hugs to you!
Just as beautiful as yesterday's post. Sophie and I have decided that we would like a fireplace in our house, if that won't be a problem?
Hello, enjoyed the post, wonderful pictures. Love the fireplace, we have a fake but does the trick. So sorry to hear about losing your Mother, never easy but near a holiday is so painful. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Hugs Francine.
Beautiful walk and thanks for the history. It's all so interesting.
