Miggy Meets Sheba !

Miggy and I went for our walk this morning and met up with a stray dog . I haven’t seen this dog before .  It was friendly and Miggy and this dog seemed to like each other right off the bat .

We  passed by some neighbours that know of this dog and said her name was Sheba and comes from the farm down the road and apparently follows its masters truck when they leave , the thing that got me is they said the people that own her just keep driving as they can see her trying to catch up with them , well that just ticked me off , how can anyone do that . She had sad eyes as if to say to me all I want is love and attention , well my heart felt heavy at the look she gave me !

So she followed us home and I put her in Miggy’s kennel  , gave her a bowl of water and thankfully Sheba had a tag with a number on it . I called the number and asked if they owned a black Border Collie , Retriever mix , the women on the phone said yes and then she said oh just leave her she will come home , well I was fuming by this point , I said to the women no I would like you to come and pick her up please as she is hanging around our property and I am afraid she may get hurt . So she said very casually She would send her hubs to come get her . I was so angry that they knew she was wondering around some where and didn't  seem to care . I gave her our address and minuets later this guy shows up not a care in the world whether the dog is ok or not and said she does this all the time  , I had to hold my tongue and just said nicely to him that she will become road kill one day and it wont be of her fault ! he seemed to shrug it all off . I wanted to give him a mouthful but didn't !  The poor thing was all tattered and quite skinny even though she was about 8 months old and still growing and I doubt she has even been spayed or had her shots ! I felt sorry for this pretty girl , if we could afford to I would of just taken her in . I did say to him though that if I see her on the run again I will call the humane  society  to pick her up as she should not be treated like this . Again he shrugged what I said off !

So they took her home and Miggy was a bit upset as I think she wanted Sheba to stay !

                 It really gets my fur up how some people miss treat animals !

Hi Elaine..Why some people have animals for I haven't quite figured out, but the poor animals are so loyal just for a bit of attention!!
She is a cutie...what a cute face!! I would have just called the humane society or our animal control whom I usually call, when I see these things happen, hoping it might make them think about the fine or warnings they will get!!
Doesn't always work though!!!
She will be back to visit I'm sure after your nice treatment : }

Elaine ~ owning an animal is a privilege NOT a right. Animal owners MUST take care of their pets ~ I would be fuming too. In fact, I would have let them believe that I let her go and would have called the Humane Society ~ That little girl would have been adopted quicly. She is such a sweety. I hope she fairs well and if by chance you see her again call the Humane Society. Those people should NOT be animal owners.

Oh Elaine, I feel for you, Miggy, and Sheba. I do not understand why some folks even get dogs when they obviously don't want to invest the time and money to care for them. Sheba is in my prayers.

And that's all Sheba wants is some one to love her back. What a beautiful dog. I understand your anger.

This makes me so angry. I'd take her in or take her to a no-kill shelter. They are obviously not responsible enough to be pet owners. The fact that she is skinny shows that she isn't being treated well physically as well as emotionally.

Elaine, you have every right to be mad at Sheba's powners who certainly do not deserve to have any pet. You may find yourself caring for her another day as Sheba may well remember your kindness. Hopefully, she will not get injured or worse because of her uncaring owners.

People who can't care properly for their pets should have none.

Thanks for keeping her safe. You have a good heart.

Poor girl :( I hate when pet owners are irresponsible. This just breaks my heart. You did a very kind thing watching over her.
