Invasion !

We are having an invasion of the Box elder Bug .  They are a pain in the butt . They are living in our tree at the end of our drive way and are all over the house as well and some are getting in any tiny nook and granny . They are harmless don't bite and don't lay eggs in doors thank goodness  but just a total nuisance . Papa and I have been outside getting rid of as many as we can and the ones that get inside are dealt with as well !  We spent most of yesterday getting rid of them . We have done some research on them ,  apparently every ten years they hit a peak , guess this is the tenth year ! We may have to cut the huge tree down that they are feeding on and living in . We get the morning sun on the front of the house and they just love the heat on the house .

So needless to say  we are doing what we can to keep these pests under control !

All part of  Country Living eh ?

Wish us luck , with this old house we will be going crazy !

Until next time hope you all have a bug free day !

Your post reminds me of how I love everything about living in the country, but the bugs!

I hope you have a good weekend!!

I wish my house were bug free. Even after spraying twice, the roaches are invading my bathroom and everywhere else. The ONLY bug I'm petrified of (I rescue spiders and silverfish for goodness sakes) and they're in my personal space. I'm petrified, can't sleep and have to keep the lights on at night.

Hmm I wondered what those were called, we always called them Maple bugs, but now I know and can be knowledgeable when people ask. We had an invasion about 8 or 9 years ago and no one has seen much of them before or since. I'm hoping it was just a fluke year.
