NEW CAMERA & A BIT OF THIS & THAT

I had mentioned in a past post that my  Nikon D60 camera that has served me well was causing pixel spots in my photos and  when that starts to happen there is nothing that can be done to fix it and I found out they don't make that model anymore. Papa said then we will go get you a new camera as I love my photography so much. So that we did yesterday . I got my new camera a Nikon D 3100, WOW it is amazing like the D 60 but better. It has live view and video . It took me some time to learn my D60 and now with the D3100 I have to learn this one. It has a lot more to it but I will muddle through by trial and error once again. I had a grip battery pack on the D60 that held two batteries, now I have to get one for my D3100 so Papa ordered one for me and it should be here soon. Thank goodness they make all the lenses fit each model of Nikon cause I have 4 of them . So I am off to read and play with my new Nikon D3100  WOOOHOOO !

Last photos taken with my Nikon D60 . It served me well !

Well that's all for today. It is to rain this afternoon so Miggy and I are going to go for our walk this morning before it rains and then this afternoon I am going to play with my new camera.

Until next time hope you all have a wonderful day !

Seems we both got new camera, I got one on Friday. HOT dog on your new Nikon! I know all about the learning curve. I got a Canon T3, its a starter slr. Totally different than my bridge superzoom and other older Sony with all the lens.

Hope you have a ball with it. If you are in need of a book there is a guy David Busch and he wrote books on many of the slr camera. They go beyond the manual you get with the camera. He has a book on your camera. His books are amazing and easy to understand, chock full of photos and much more. I would not have been able to learn this camera if it were not for these books, the manual is not so helpful.

HAPPY SHOOTING!

Wow, I have to admit I'm a wee bit jealous that you got that new camera. It's not in my foreseeable future. When I DO finally purchase it, you'll be an expert on using it and will have to give me lessons! I love the photos, especially the hats hanging on the line. I, too, am married to a hat wearer!

Hi Elaine, getting something new is always fun and fond farewell to your older Nikon. Even if it could be repaired, the cost may not be worth the effort, sort of a shame but then you did get many fun years with it. You could always sell it "as is" on ebay for parts. You would be surprised at WHAT folks will buy. Then you could use any $ to get something for the new model...just a thought, caus I've done it.
