CLEANING THE CHIMNEY

It is a chilly day and over cast. Papa had the fun job of cleaning our woodstove chimney . It can be a dirty messy job. The worst part is he has to go up on the roof and up to the top of the chimney remove the cover and use the chimney sweep and clean it out.

He puts a bag over the hole so that when he sweeps it all falls into the bag and not all over Country Gals floor !

Ok before he did the chimney he just had to sweep the eavestrough as it was getting loaded with leaves !

Papa seems very relaxed and knows what he is doing. The chimney pipe is so shiny, it must be visible for miles. Well, all done in good time and safely!

Time passes too quickly and once again I'm catching up on your blog and with your making chili and a few other things it definitely has a feel of fall to it--I'm just so glad that 'Papa' didn't!! :-))

Glad you have your chimney cleaned but I am like you and do not like watching my loved ones going too high in the sky... smile..
Have a great weekend...

We don't burn wood, because I'm allergic to it, but a lot of folks around here do. Does he have to clean the chimney out mid winter, or because you're using it a lot, it burns hot enough to stay clean til spring? Have a great week!
