Well our hummers are finally back and I am loving how many we have this year , 5 so far more than we usually have , that's ok with me I love watching these speedy little birds and the fun and challenge of photographing them . Photos all taken hand held as I sit and let them get used to me being there with camera in hand , they are skittish at first then when they realize I do not pose a threat then they strike a pose lol !.
They battle for who is going to claim the feeders and yard as their feeders are hanging under the over hang of our patio porch and they come right under our porch and practically run us over in the process lol .
They also love to sit up high in our maple tree and they are soo tiny it is hard to see them and they look like one of the leaves till they flit out and about from the branch .
This little guy above is a Black Chinned Humming bird most common species that migrate to parts of southern Ontario . We also have Ruby Throated and Anna’s Hummers .
This little one really likes the Cedar hedges as she can keep a close eye on the feeders and rest . They are amazing little birds .
Blooms are every where now in my gardens and they seemed to have caught up from the late start to the season . Our garden center trip for my annuals will be next weekend which is our long weekend , Victoria Day weekend or commonly referred to here in Ontario as the May two four 2/4 weekend ! But today we were up in town shopping and got a nice plant for Papa’s mom for mothers day and I got a head start on some of my flowers to ..
I couldn't resist these pretty daisies !
The weather started out rainy here today but the clouds are slowly clearing for the afternoon and evening .
Whether your a mum to fur kids and or human kids . We here at Woods Country Cove
wish all the mum’s out there a
Until next time .

It sure was chilly overnight, took my hanging baskets into the garage just in case. But it's a lovely day. Your hummers are great, we usually only see the ruby throated ones here, and have had a couple around the feeders along with a couple of orioles. Enjoy the weekend.
Those hummingbird pictures are amazing! You are a great photographer! We've had three hummingbirds so far, but ours look different. I believe the ones here are called ruby-throated. I'll have to try getting a picture of one. Happy Mother's Day to you.
Hello, pretty flowers and hummer photos. Happy Mother's Day to you! Enjoy your day and new week ahead!
Nice feeder pics as well as the others. You have the feeder where the background isn't distracting, which is great.
Beautiful shots!
