It was a lovely sunny warm day yesterday and a nice break from the rains for a change . Miggs and I went for a hour and half walk early in the morning and when we came back well the birds were busy feasting and playing about in the trees . I went in to get my camera hoping for some photos of just about anything that caught my eye and that it did as well as caught my ear as I heard a sound like many different birds but all in the same spot , as curious as I am wanting to know why all the sounds of different birds were coming from one spot I grabbed my camera and went on the look out . Well to my surprise I saw this lovely bird I have never seen before let alone heard it . He was siting up in our maple tree chatting away in all kinds of different sounds and thankfully he stayed pretty still for some time and I was able to get some photos of him .
He was quite high up in the tree and I was able to some what get under him hoping not to scare him off .
Can you guess what kind of bird he is yet … !
Do you know now ?!
How about now ?!
I was so shocked and had never seen let alone heard one before … I was in AWE !!
Now?!
I looked him up on my birding website I use for identification . I will tell you now if you haven't guessed yet ………. A Northern Mocking bird , I know eh?! how awesome is that ?! . He was amazing as he sat there for me and chatted and sang and mimicked every other bird in the yard it was fantastic . My Favorite Bird Website
I am soo happy I finally got to see and hear one of these amazing birds and get photos . WOOHOO !
I had a great day taking photos with my Miggs by my side as always of all kinds of things but capturing this bird today was at the top of my list lol !
Tons of rain we are to be getting all day and into Saturday flood warnings are out everywhere we are expected to get a total of 50 to 70mm or 2 to 3 inches of rain and this is all after we have already had loads of rain and the ground is still some what soggy . Our Otter River down the road is already reaching the banks and all this rain will put it well over .
Until next time .

What an exciting find for you. I wonder if it will hang around for awhile.
Absolutly fantastic to get a new bird to add to your list. Hope it isn't just passing through and will be back in your garden giving you lots of photo opportunities. Rain heading our way, lots and lots of it. Stay dry.
Very pretty!
Those Mickingbirds are good at chattering! Great pix.
Mockingbirds are one of the first to show in southern gardens, beautiful and noisy :)
They are very territorial and will attack anything they suspect as a threat....ask my cats ...LOL
