Walking The Back 40 Path

The sun is shining on and off today , so nice to finally see the sun after two weeks of cloud and overcast .  Miggs and I decided to go for a nice walk and then take  the path in the back 40 behind our house  at the edge of the forest and field . It has been a while since we walked that path  . I used my smart phone for photos . Miggs still has to be leashed  on this path as there are so many wild animals in the wooded area and it is still under law as it is in our valley village  plus she   has Terrier in her  and that breed comes out in her  if and when  there is a chase and she will not hear me calling her to come back as she gets in the zone   and focuses only on the chase and forgets her training all together lol  and I don't need her getting tangled up with any wild animals out there that's for sure .

It is such a pretty trail and little forest area , lots of birds about in it to . I stopped to watch a very large hawk soring overhead  in the field and he came right over us and wasn't that high up either , my phone camera wouldn't of captured much of what I like to capture of them , I needed to have my big camera for that but it was lovely to stand there in the forest on the path at the edge of the field listening to nature as I watch this beautiful hawk .

Lots of  interesting gnarly trees and vines along the edges of the path .

Miggs taking a break , she has a bit of an upset tummy today as she insists on gulping lots of snow and there fore air in her tummy  so she hasn't been  a very happy camper but the walk she enjoyed  as I did .

It is soo peaceful on this trail and we saw lots of other dog tracks  and tracks of wild animals to . Good practice for me to identify what tracks belong to whom lol !

So much going on in this section of tree and vine above , I like it .

Behind this tree trunk off the path and  tucked in the green batch of trees way over  across the field to the left of the photo  is our house .

The path starts at the end of our road and ends up down and around the field edge in the forest over to the road that is across the field , it isn't a big long  path but a pretty one no matter the season .    Wide open space with views of  the top of  our valley in the back drop . I love it here it is one of my favorite places  , so lucky to have all this with in steps from our door .

All though it is cold we had a nice walk and the sun is shining , some of our snow not that we have a lot is now melting with the suns warmth . I have noticed the evenings staying lighter later now and the mornings becoming brighter earlier to   YIPPEE !   The beginning of February is this Wednesday and Thursday is ground hog day  hope he tells us Spring is in the air !

                                                                            Until next time .

What a lovely sunny day for a brisk walk. The sun sure lifts our spirits doesn't it?

Interesting about keeping Miggs on the leash. Otherwise, he must stay close to home?

How nice to have a large area like that for walks. I would have had to put Kane on leash, too, if there were lots of wild animal around. He would come when called (he was a herding dog) but I still would have worried. Sunny here, too, today. Finally.

It looks like a very pleasant area in the snow.

Looks like a nice place to walk. What are you betting for Ground Hog Day?

What a lovely walk! Hope that Miggs is feeling better after her snow eating!
