Just Flying By

The months that is , I cant believe how fast time fly's by now  .

The weather here has been up and down , cold nights turn into frosty mornings , winds blowing with warm sunshine and rising temps in the day . This morning we woke to warm breezes and it was up to 12C or 54F after the evening had dropped to 5C or 41F   weird weather temps all over the place  and they change fast  .

I have finished what garden clean up I had left and will do the rest come spring as some of my plants require that to protect  their root system over the winter , not all  my plants can be chopped back in fall .

Miggs and I have been enjoying our early morning walks in the few crisp frosty mornings and the warmer mornings as well . We seem to have loads of Robins about this time of year as they migrate and stop off here  and peck the ground that is still soft and feast on all the bushes and trees we have here stuffed full of berries . Starlings and Grackles are about in hordes as they are in the midst of migration as well , murders of Crows are about  as they fly  from place to place in the valley cawing like mad  ,  lots of Eastern blue birds about being very elusive to my camera and other birds are enjoying our feeders  .

OCTOBER 2016 (2 of 8)

Miggs has been snoozing a lot as the squirrels are not about as much  as I guess they have gone to bed for the season or found some where else for now to feast .

OCTOBER 2016 (4 of 8)

After the last frost I figured I had better bring in my Geraniums and prepare them for the indoors like spray them with BUG be gone so bugs don't come in and get transferred to my indoor plants  , I do this every year so far so good !

OCTOBER 2016 (5 of 8)

The stand that my Violets are on is actually a step stool Papa made for me years ago but I like using it as a plant stand  it looks nice .

OCTOBER 2016 (8 of 8)

So whilst all the gardens have been put to bed for the season it is nice to have blooms indoors still going till spring .

OCTOBER 2016 (6 of 8)

We  have lots of leaves out side to rake up again or suck up with the leave blower/vacuum or tractor which ever works best at the time lol  this year I hope to mulch them and I think I will layer my garden beds with it all as they act like a protective blanket and by spring become fertilizer for the gardens .

Well that's about it for me , not much going on here now a days as the days get shorter , the light gets less  BOOHOO ! and most things have been done and put away  but all that said and done it gives me more time with camera in hand  so that's a good thing hehe !

                                                             Happy November

                                                                          Until next time .

Good for you for bring those flowers in, especially if you have the room.

Another month has started. You have a nice area for inside plants. I just don't seem to have a spot for them with enough sun over the winter. We face north, and the south facing rooms just don't have the right arrangement for plants. I've got a few in the kitchen and that is about all. I love your step stool, just perfect for display.

Your indoor plants are beautiful. I was just telling someone how much I miss having African violets in the kitchen window. I would love to have more sunshine coming through the windows, like you have. Living in a log home in the woods is darker. I do have an Impatient to bring inside. Enjoyed your post!
