Since Saturday night we have been in a snow storm with high winds blowing snow no visibility and dangerous to drive in so Papa and I just hunkered down watched movies and stayed cozy . It was the worst snow storm we have had this year so far and it dumped any where from 25 cm to 30 cm or 9 to 11 inches in some areas it was more . The land was quiet except for all the birds feasting in the storm at the feeders . I was able to get a few Cardinals all together which is rare for me as there never seems to be more then one at a time at the feeders but I guess in the storm it was grab what ya can for them .
The snow was flying at this point winds howling and very cold .
This was yesterday .
This was last night !
Then we come to this morning oh boy even more snow and Papa is home due to the plough hasn’t been yet so no going to work for him today he will do some work from the phone and e-mail if he has to , to make sure all is good . All school buses in the entire Southwestern of Ontario have been cancelled .
So we all went outside as it was calming down this morning to shovel and snow blow !
We got a lot of snow and lots of big drifts to !
Miggs was up to her belly in snow and she loved it !
This is how deep it was !
Papa is soo glad for the snow blower as am I as she cut through the snow like butter ! Could you imaging shovelling this ? Not !!!! we aren't spring chickens any more lol !
All the snow is cleared now Papa is over at his mom and dad’s helping clear their mounds of snow . The storm has stopped and the sun is peeking out now but we are expected to get more snow as the week goes on but thankfully we kept power through out it all but a water main broke in the valley village so we have low water pressure for now but Papa called and it will be back up by the afternoon . Today is ground hog day and I hope Mr Ground hog has good news for us that spring will be here soon !
Until next time !

Happy February to you! I hope we have an early spring too!!! So glad you have that snow blower; we don't have one and it is getting tougher each year to shovel the snow. Thankfully, we haven't had a snow like you got. Loved seeing your birds-I love Cardinals!
Sending winter hugs your way.

I love the snow moving machine. You sure got a lot of it to move.
That is a whole lot of snow!
You got snow! Looks like Miggy likes it just fine:)
that is a bunch of snow, even in my eyes! thanks for your kind words and understanding about my scare with Winston. Animal lovers I know just get how afraid I was
brrr! so glad your husband can be home in it. love how miggs is completely unphased.
Oh my goodness Elaine, it all looks beautiful but..... :) The night shot of the shed with the sparkling snow, that was beautiful! All very pretty photos, glad you've got that snow blower too. Glad Miggs enjoys all that snow and the birds are being taken care of. Papa is a good son to go over and help things get cleared for his Mom and Dad. Nope, we're not spring chickens any more :)
I hope the groundhog did have good news! That is a lot of snow and makes the tiny little bit we had last night seem so daft, but I saw two different car accidents today so it really shows that it only takes a few flakes to be dangerous. I hope that your water is back on and that you are all safe and sound! xx
Lots of drifting here too and we are so glad to have a snowblower ... did some paths through the back garden today and cleared away by the mailbox so the mailman can get in to deliver all that wonderful mail we get!!!
That's just too much snow no matter how I look at it. Although the ornery came out as I looked at the pictures...how long would it take with the snow blower to bury that car??? Maybe it's double good we don't have that much snow.
Stay warm.
You got some nice shots in front of that shed door.
So you got snow too? But your amounts were "light" Elaine compared to the nearly 34 inches in Nashua, NH. We did the same as you and Papa, stay indoors nice and comfy and watched movies. But, unlike you and Papa we did not have to go outdoors and shovel or dig out as apt living does have its upsides. Also, nice knowing our cars are parked in an underground garage. We DO recall our years of snow shoveling in our native NJ and like you said not getting any younger, but wiser :-)
