Gone To The Birds

Gone to feeding them every two days in this weather and taking lots of photos of them to and loving every second of their funny antics and characters  lol ! Yesterday was cold but sunny and the winds were calm so it was a good day for being out  and that I was for 4 hours  .

I like the challenge of taking the birdies photos in a more natural habitat like our trees then at the feeders !

JANUARY 2015 (19 of 29)

This little White breasted nuthatch was playing peekaboo with me for hours and then another one came along but do you think they would get together so I could get a photo of  the two of them    ?which is rare , NOT A CHANCE !  lol !

JANUARY 2015 (1 of 6)

As he was walking upside down on the tree trunk keeping and eye on me . These birds are the only ones that can walk head first or upside down a tree and they can literally go right around  a branch  with out falling off ! !

But having the feeders by the trees helps as well as they take a seed then off into the trees they go to crack the seeds and get the good stuff inside  and I have a chance to at least get photos of them that way !

This Male Cardinal was playing with me as he would dart all over the place hiding in the branches probably laughing at me as I follow him like the nut  that I am trying to get his photo. Well looks like I won this time Mr Cardinal !

JANUARY 2015 (9 of 21)-2

The Juncos were flying all around me as were the Chickadees as I stood under our big 100 or so year old tree watching, listening to the birdies as they chit chat and bobbing all over the tree trunk and branches  and I hoping they don't poop on me or my camera lol !

I had so much fun watching , listening and taking their photos and they all seemed to obliged to , which was a good thing cause I am pleased with how the photos of them all turned out ! I took a total of 100 photos , that for me is normal  lol !

Can you tell I have gone to the birds here lol !

JANUARY 2015 (26 of 29)

I don't know if this is the same Cardinal as we have a few of them about but this one was cheeky in hiding in the crab apple tree thinking I cant see him as he watched  me out the corner of his eye the entire time I was under him taking his photo  ha ha  gotcha lol ! The branches with the berries your trying to hide in add to the photo  Mr smarty pants lol !

JANUARY 2015 (29 of 29)

Yup most of my days are spent with the birds lol taking their photos watching , listening and just getting lost in and are in Awe of  the nature we have here  and keeping count as to how many birds we have and who for my archives and bird count and best of all enjoying each and every one  of them and sometimes get a new bird  in the yard !

It is warming up a bit here today the sun is peeking out every now  and then, they say we are to get a warm up and maybe some snow flurries  , it is what it is I say as long as my birdies and critters are happy and always have lots of food  and shelter  .

                                                                            Until next time .

We had big flocks of birds around the feeders today ... goldfinches, sparrows, doves, woodpeckers, juncos. Haven't seen the goldfinches for a couple of days.

Your photos are as truly amazing and among the best I've seen!

And I've also taken 100 photos at one time, and I wonder how did we ever manage with film? :-)

You got some great photos in your backyard. There haven't been as many birds around here this week for some reason. I still haven't seen a nuthatch or cardinal here but saw a pine siskin the other day. It's been too cold here to go out and wait for birds to land. LOL

Gosh, you were incredibly patient to be out there for four hours photographing the birds, but what wonderful pictures!! Well worth it, but you must have been freezing! xx
