Having A Eye Glass Dilemma

I have had eye glasses for 8 years now for the computer as my right eye is weak and the computer screen is to hard on my eye . I am farsighted and I use the cheap magnified glasses from the store to read  books with  . I went to get my eyes retested a week ago and I got a prescription for the new Lineless “ bifocal's “ that have the reading lens on the bottom and the computer part on the top  , one problem is the computer part at the sides are blurry and seem to be distorted  even ,  all though my old glasses are a bit blurry for my right eye at least I can see the entire screen more clearly which with the new ones that cost an arm and a leg as far as I am concerned don't do what is needed of them so I have to take them back all though I have to make an appointment which wont be till  near the end of February and I am on the cancelation list but still a pain in the butt all this farting around just to get it so I can see clearly lol So for now I am back to the old glasses that I can see better with minus the bit of blur in the right eye go figure  nothing gets easier when ya get older now does it ? lol ! and this is all after they had gone back already cause the prescription was wrong the first time !

JANUARY 2015 (1 of 1)

Fancier  new glasses on the left old ones on the right !

After all this I may have to go to having the lens and prescription as one lens like my old ones , why wasn't that decided there and then when I had the test instead of pushing these new  bifocal lens at me lol ! Then the lady said they may have twisted the prescription ever so slightly I am thinking ok well fix it now then  but nooo I have to wait  oh boy !! I guess it is what it is  !  Just a little venting at some thing that could of been done with ease instead of the run around !

Sunny  with cloudy periods , cold , windy and snowing  here today ,  Papa and I are off to super this evening with friends of ours Don & Dianne , for Chinese food Yummy ! WOOHOO ! a night off from cooking !

                                                                                  Until next time

I hate having to get my eyes tested, they have given me the wrong prescription on two different occasions, by two different eye specialists, no less.
I get the prescription glasses, but still end up with the drug store brand !
Hope they get it sorted out for you.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with your bifocals! I got some a year or so ago, and I chose the ones with the lines, because of the "blurry" thing. With the progressive lenses (no lines) there's a blurry area that you have to adjust to, and I didn't want to deal with that. The ones with the lines are much easier to deal with, I think! If you have a chance to switch them, I think it would be easier to adjust to...just my opinion! There's not much more frustrating than not being able to see well!

I used to have trifocals ... reading, computer, distance, and then I went to no line and they worked fine till last year and I was told I had cataracts developing ... now they are worse, yet I can see the computer screen fine without glasses at all but can't read the tv menu or the item boards in grocery stores!!! My next appointment is in March and I'm wondering if surgery is in the future to clear this cloudy vision which I can't stand. Hope you get your situation all sorted out soon.

I use glasses for driving. Sooner or later I should replace them- the ones I have are still my first pair.

I literally despise having my eyes tested and going through all that would be so annoying.. Hope it all works out soon and have a great weekend, my friend. xo

You shouldn't have to wait that long to be seen. Eyeglasses can be very frustrating:(

It's so annoying isn't it? I wear contact lenses and they are fine, but I have to wear reading glasses for close work. At night I wear glasses but have to take them off and go up close to any reading material to see it. No wonder I get headaches! To top it all I have just been diagnosed with Glaucoma, so in a way I am happy my optician was on the ball that day when he referred me to the hospital :-) I hope you get sorted very soon x

It was easier before glasses. :)
I have progressive lens now and can't say I'm thrilled with them for reading. The blurry thing bothers me too.

I dread needing more than one pair of glasses, at least I only have the one right now. I hope that you can get it all sorted out. xx

They may have the change marked wrong. I have trouble with the computer because my glasses are scaled to look down to read and up to see. I do not look down on the computer I look out...did that make any sense?? I too have been disappointed with my lens. I have a three dollar walmart pair on now for the computer.

May we both find a solution.

I feel your pain, Elaine!
I have 3 or 4 pairs from the $ store...but have prescription Progressive glasses...hate them for anything but reading! I am supposed to wear when driving...but I don't!!!
Need to get an eye test...will wait til after FLorida, 'cause then I'll be 65...**groan**...and the test is free!!
But...i do take better photos with my script glasses...for sure!
Enjoy your day...crappy here...but a balmy 3*....YAY!!!
Hoe you get everything sorted out....
Cheers!

At least you don't have to get them in town here...

I'm not joking when I say that at least 3 people in the last little while that I know directly have had the wrong prescription put in.

One was a 80 year old woman, and they kept telling her that it was age.....

They had the lenses in backwards of all things. Sigh.

Good luck with them, and hopefully they help.

What a pain glasses can be, but for the first time in 45 years, my eyes have squeaked over the threshold so that I drive sans les lunettes. What a treat.
