Party Of Robins In The Rain!

It has been raining on and off since yesterday not much snow left now , the temps have turned chilly but the air is fresh and sweet with the smell of spring !

As I was making supper I looked out my kitchen window and saw a party of Robins on the lawn across from us   WOW ! I have never seen that many Robins in one spot ! I was in my glory as the Robin is my fave bird and to photograph all these at once was awesome and a rare occasion for me !

SPRING 2013 (1 of 1)-19

They were bobbing around and pecking at the ground !

SPRING 2013 (1 of 1)-21

They were wide spread over the lawn and I couldn’t get them all in the photo with the lens I had on my camera and knowing my luck  if I went to change lenses they would be gone . There must of been about 25 of them .

A children's lyrics to a song I sang and knew when I was younger !

                                              Robin In The Rain

                                               Robin in the rain,
                                              Such a saucy fellow.
                                               Robin in the rain,
                                            Mind your socks of yellow.
Running in the garden on your nimble feet,
Digging for your dinner with your long strong beak.
                                                     Robin in the rain,
                                        You don't mind the weather
                                       Showers always make you gay.
Bet the worms are wishing you would stay away,
Robin on a rainy day -- don't get your feet wet,
                                                    Robin on a rainy day!

And a little cheeky rhyme my dad taught me that my mum would cringe at lol !

Little Robin red breast sat upon a poll , stuck his head between his legs and whistled up his hole !

British parents what can I say they were nuts lol !

All our spring birdies are back now yes even the pesky Grackles and Starlings that hog the feeders !

 SPRING 2013 (1 of 1)-14

I have even seen and heard the Killdeer in the fields and saw the Eastern Blue birds in the trees at the edges of the fields as well . Tundra swans are making their spring migration flight as they fuel up with grains from  the conservations and head back to cooler temps  and the Canadian Geese are flying around making homes on the river banks  here again and the critters are showing up more one by one .So all in all it is spring here according to the birdies and critters !

Until next time hope you have a good day !

                                    Thanks For Popping By !

That is a big flock or robins, and so lovely to see. The most we've seen at once is 3.

Enjoy the sights and sounds of spring!! I have seen robins group together in the fall to head south, they probably do the same thing when heading north!!!
