Oh Boy , It’s Cold Out !

WOW ! Is it ever cold out . Early this morning I went to let Miggs out to do her business and the cold and wind took my breath away as soon as I opened the door . The temps are -15°C with a wind chill of -26°C . Needless to say we wont be going for our walk with that roaring cold wind . The wind gusts are so hard this entire old farm house creaks and cracks .

So I started the wood stove going to get it all toasty and cozy .

Papa got me the Ove Glove for stoking the fire as it gets really hot and burns my skin , this glove is a god send , if you need protection from the heat of a fire place or woodstove this Ove Glove is awesome !

Then after I started making supper for tonight to put in my crock pot for the day , a hardy warm stick to your ribs Chilli !

I like to brown the meat before putting it in the crock pot .

As that is browning I chop up half and sweet cooking onion , red ,green, yellow and orange peppers .

DSC_6725

I use kidney beans, I drain them , tomatoe past , diced canned tomatoes  and Manwhich sauce .

When the meat has all browned I put all the ingredients into the crock pot mix it all together then the last ingredient goes in.

One tablespoon of chilli powder then mix well and WALLA  !

By the time I was done the sun was shining in my kitchen .A few clouds

Now the smell of Chilli and the wood stove are wafting through the house  MMM !

So what's for dinner tonight at your house in this cold frigid weather ?

Until next time stay safe and cozy & have a good day !

It is extremely cold here too...your little stove looks perfect for those cold days. I haven't thought about what is for supper yet ~ maybe try to get something in place over my lunch hour. Have a cozy day!

Still not feeling good today,so instead of the Cornish pasties I was going to make we are going to have a veg curry I've already made and had in the freezer.
The temp is dropping through the day today...how weird is that?
Stay cozy

Nippy cold here today, love your wood stove and kettle, wish we had a bigger surface area to cook on, on ours. Your supper looks good.

COLD, COLD, COLD here too. But the sun is out (to show up the dust). We went grocery shopping this morning and didn't linger any longer than we had too. Came home to nice hot cups of tea and coffee. Our cat, Shadow, wouldn't even set foot outside the kitchen door this morning, and who can blame her.

Ah, a warm fire and comfort food. :) We had the same here and also used the crock pot. We made ribs in the crock pot and they were wonderful. :)

Oh dear girl, stay warm. and pray the power stays on with that wind!! Even though we're in warmer climates for the winter... I still miss my little stove back home. Your house sounds like a real refuge from this storm or Low pressure.
