BIRDS, CRITTERS ,CLOUDS & TREES part 2

Today is a cloudy rain on and off day but warm. I can hear so many different species of birds singing and chirping in our back yard and in the valley as it echo's.

Yesterday was like a summer day warm sunny and beautiful. Miggy and I were out all day and I of course  was taking photos. Most photographers use a tripod for these types of photos but I like to be right in there with my subjects to sit and to watch and also learn their habits as I am photographing them is amazing and they get to know and trust me and my camera.  I have counted so far 20 different species of birds that come to our back yard and this morning as Papa was leaving for work at 6:30 am I saw the Ruby Red Throated Humming bird at the feeder, WOOHOO ! I will be taking his photo as well as the other species of Humming birds we get when they arrive and as I write this I also saw and heard the Wren he is back to. But for now here are some of the other species of birds and critters I have photographed.

Your pictures are absoluetly gorgeous! As I went thru them I thought how neat they would look in a calendar.
I love waking to the sound of the birds in spring. There is one red robin who sings at dusk and dawn every day. What a wonderful song of spring!

Hello Elaine, enjoyed this nature series - birds and clouds and bunnies in the yard, plus a couple of chipmonks (we don't have any of those). I agree with you on handholding vs. using a tripod. I have one and a monopod as well, but almost never use them. TOo much to carry and set up and like you it's easier for me to get closer. Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day!
