More Snow & Birds
It has been quiet here mostly for us , Papa at work weekdays and Miggs and I just putter about and try to pop outside every now and then for some fresh air and a change of scenery or to do a bit of shoveling till Papa can snow blow or filling feeders . Talking about feeders they have been the hub of the yard as birds flit to and fro between the feeders and the cedar hedges . Sometimes it can get very noisy with the amount of birds that horde the feeding area , why one day I counted or at least tryed to count as they all moved about 60 birds and all different species , I can sometimes hear the sound of them all together swoosh back and forth as they all take off together and return a few minuets later .
I just looked out the window of my computer room as I am typing this and .. it is snowing again 🤨,
Oh well it is winter time and we did have it start later in the season so I guess I shouldn't complain lol.
On wards and upwards only 50 days till Spring WOOHOO !
Until next time .

Some Winter Blah To Winter Awe
How the snow gently sits on the tiniest seeds of grasses .
Contrast and textures lines with icy snow make for very interesting photos .
The good thing is there is lots of magical sights under the blanket of snow and once I find them I am in awe of it all over again .
I also am in awe of this pretty little bud of my Lilac bush .
Possibly a sign of an early spring in the air already ?!
Oh yes and I cant forget the most awe of all here who we all love
Miggs .
Blogger template is acting up for me today so this post may not look right , I used to use another template from another source called Open Live Writer to make my posts but that also is not working for me properly now , oh well I also put some of my photos on my Facebook page and that is working lol .
Until next time .

Winter Days , Taking Them One Day At A Time
Miggs and I have been puttering about each day , see winter isn't our favorite season we are more the summer type but when or winters are like this one has been we find it a bit easier to handle , as Miggs and I have been able to get out more and go for our walks every day and spend a bit of time outside .
Some mornings have been pretty with the sun rise .
These are these days Miggs and I like this time of year . I like sunny winter days .
Miggs just loves the sunshine to , we have less snow then in this pic now this was taken a few days ago lol .
Even my indoor plants perk up with the lovely winter sunshine .
Its always nice to have some flowers and colour inside during the winters .
Clear sunny winter sky's make the air colder but under the porch on the patio in her bed Miggs loves to snooze in the sunshine for a bit and get some fresh air . Even though it hasn't been a tuff winter for us this year so far I still am looking forward to it being over and welcoming spring with the promise of colours and all newness with in the land , more sunny days , earlier sunrises and later sunsets and the return of my favorite song birds .
But for now , Miggs and I are just taking these winter days one day at a time .
Until next time .

A Mix Of This & That
Hello .
It has been fairly quiet here the past week or two , not much going on . January is rolling along quite nicely so far. In just a little over 4 weeks time Papa’s work in February will shut down for their mid winter break for a week .
As for our weather , well that's been a wacky one this winter so far . Miggs and I have been able to enjoy out side a bit more this winter than past winters as we have had very little snow , just a dusting of the stuff here and there . Today it is windy sunny but cold and what little snow we do have is blowing about for now .
The other day before we got any snow we had fog and lots of rain and the temps were very warm . I love a fog over the fields and our valley .
This field above is beside our house and the road Miggs and I take on our walks is to the far left of the photo.
This is about the amount of snow we have been getting on and off after the rainy days . It is nice to see the sun shine pop out from behind the winter clouds , but the clearer it is the colder it is but sunshine is always welcomed to shine on our yard , house and valley
The bird feeders have been the busiest here and I have been able to get a few pics from both inside and out .
But there was one visitor that the birdies don't like to see about the feeders as he swooped in and all the birds took off in a panic scattering everywhere.
A Broad Winged Hawk sometimes mistaken as a Coopers Hawk . I think he is beautiful and I love being able to capture photos of these pray birds every now and then as it is rare to have them so close to the house but I guess he is hungry and looking for a fast easier meal . He sat there for some time searching the area waiting to see if any of the birdies were brave enough to come to the feeders whilst he was there .
He just would not turn around and face me but he kept an eye on me with my camera over his shoulder . I find it fascinating to see these beautiful yet powerful creatures and get photos of them . The entire yard was quiet . Then he took off in a graceful flight up and over the cedar hedge towards the valley forest with no meal in his talon's this time . I could almost hear the sigh of relief FEW! from the birds as they all ventured back out to the feeders .
After The Hawk took off Miggs was outside patrolling the yard .
And eating snow lol .
Well that's about it for us here . Until next time .

A New Year Is Upon Us
Happy New Year all WOW 2019 .
Well all the festivities have come and gone and now it is time to collect ones self for the new year ahead .
Our weather has been very odd this winter for us and practically snowless . We have had more rain then snow and it is still very green and the ground has not had a good deep freeze yet and I really don't think we will have a deep freeze or much snow this winter at all but that can all change so fast cant it ?! The temps have been mild and cold from day to day and very damp to.
Miggs has mixed feelings about not having snow as she loves to play in it but then she also likes not having snow so she can get about easier and not get all wet and full of snow balls on her fur lol ! and we can go for our walks every day as the roads are dry and clear to .
Most days so far have been cloudy and gloomy but on occasion we have had the sun make an appearance and when it does we are soo happy and act like we have never seen it before , well it feels like days since we have had sunshine and when it comes out things do look and seem a whole lot brighter and happier , don’t you agree ?!
Morning sunrise through my kitchen window .
The birdies have been busy at the feeders through out the days to .
Mr Cardinal has been keeping his distance from my camera and I . I think this one is a newcomer to the area as he seems skittish at the feeder to .
Well Miggs , we may or may not have snow this winter but Spring is only 11 weeks away WOOHOO !
Until next time .
