Weather

I find this time of year the talk is all about weather , well at least it is here lol !  The birds and critters are reacting to the change in weather as are we  . I find the weather can be so unpredictable this time of year as winter try's to keep it’s grip and spring try's to push it out .   It is  warm , cold, dry , rainy, snowy cloudy , sunny or all of the above in one day . We went from some snow on the ground and cold yesterday morning to  very warm and torrential rains with high winds through out the day and now are back to green grass  cooler temps  cloud with sunny breaks  and windy  . The temps yesterday reached a record breaking  for the day of +9 C or 48 F    .

This is Miggs  the ground and the birds before the rain storm .

There are some birds there on the ground they just blend in lol ! Feeders were quiet this morning  but look just a few patches of snow left now after all the rain .

FEBRUARY 2017 (7 of 8)

The sun has been popping in and out , the ground is a bit frozen in spots and thawed in others and is a muddy mucky mess .

FEBRUARY 2017 (8 of 8)

The weather is so up and down now but I like that the day light is getting longer , the sun rises earlier and sets later when it does appear .  Miggs and I like being able to go for our walks when the land is like this and the roads are all dry and clear . I hear the birds and  the nature around us are beginning to get restless now anticipating the arrival of spring  soon as we are , especially as the weather has its warming trends and nicer days as the days get longer and sunnier  .

I am keeping an ear and eye out now for our Robins and Song Sparrows . They arrived this time last year so hoping they do soon as they are  a few of my signs of spring .

So is the weather the talk at your house  this time of year and do you see the change in the sun, land and nature  ?!

                                                                                      Until next time .

It has been milder out your way than here. We had several hours of ice rain yesterday so everything was crusted over this morning. It's sunny but not enough to melt the ice away (a few mm accumulated). School buses have been cancelled for two days because of the roads, but they are finally clear now. We stay home on days like this and just putter around ... been doing a jigsaw puzzle and finishing up a crochet projects. The robins were around yesterday morning before the ice rain started but quickly vanished again once it got really miserable out.

Here we had snow, followed by ice pellets and freezing rain over night. It tends to stay consistently cold.

Miggs looks in fine form.

The weather talk here today is that SNOW is in the forecast and predictions are for a major storm along the east coast. We may finally get more than the few inches we've had in recent light snowfalls.

I love seeing your grass, it makes me feel like Spring is close lol. We had freezing rain yesterday and the back roads were a skating rink, I had to try and find the odd bit of snow or slush for traction. We still have lots of snow here and they were calling for squalls today but I think the worst of it missed us.

I just love waiting for the different birds to show up, you will see certain ones before we do. Miggs is adorable with the snow on her nose.

Beautiful pictures as always!

Sorry you don't still have snow! It's still very white here, in spite of winter's ups and downs.

We went from ice to spring-like weather to very cold within about 24 hours.
