The weather has been quite pleasant the past few days with sunshine and cool breezes no humidity at all so I have been able to get out more into my gardens and tidy them up a bit as they were looking a bit scraggly due to the lack of rain and heat .
It has been a lovely week so far we had our Anniversary , we had a nice evening on the patio with family chatting that evening and Miggs Birthday the next day with lots of extra special treats for her , thank you to you all for taking the time out of your day to visit our blog and for your wishes for Miggs birthday and our Anniversary your visits and comments are always greatly appreciated . .
We have put the little water feature in place where we are to be putting our white picket fence garden for next year we were going to do it all this year but other things we needed to do were done first and the heat was just to much as well . It looks lonely and out of place there now but it wont be when the garden is in place , the birds seem to like the idea of it there to as I saw but didn't get a photo of , a Northern flicker had stopped by on it to have a nose about and a drink from it .
As I was sitting on the patio yesterday this little hummer was taking an interest in the flowers in the hanging pot .
Look closely he is in there lol !
Then he decided to go to the feeder and rest and drink instead .
He blends in quite nicely with the greenery doesn't he ?! They are feasting like mad now and fighting for territory as they prepare for the long journey back soon !
Mr Dovey likes to take a break here at one of the watering holes in the mornings .
Our little red breasted nut hatch has returned and is quite comical to watch as he flits about and turns upside down every now and then on the feeder playing and feasting .
I caught a glimpse of the moon yesterday in the middle of the day slowly setting in the west .
Yesterday the Moon was in a Waning Gibbous Phase. This is the first phase after the Full Moon occurs. It lasts roughly 7 days with the Moon’s illumination growing smaller each day until the Moon becomes a Last Quarter Moon with a illumination of 50%. The average Moon rise for this phase is between 9am and Midnight depending on the age of the phase. The moon rises later and later each night setting after sunrise in the morning. During this phase the Moon can also be seen in the early morning daylight hours on the western horizon.
TODAY - Thursday, August 25, 2016. The moon today is in a Third Quarter phase. Sometimes called a Last Quarter moon, this phase occurs roughly 3 weeks after the New moon when the moon is three quarters of the way through it's orbit around the earth.
I don't know about all of you but I have always found the moon fascinating and beautiful as well .
Miggs …. well she just loves everything lol !
It was a cloudy morning this morning and the humidity is back again to , YUK ! we were to get rain over night but not much of that came down for us here though , it did in surrounding areas as Papa said to me via a FB message this morning the roads were soaking wet on his way to work at 5am and there were puddles to , the sun is coming out now and boy oh boy is it ever humid even more now , oh well it is what it is I always say lol ! I cant believe this is the last full week of August already where did the summer go ?! . Papa is off all next week for a vacation , not going any where just enjoying being home puttering and maybe a day trip or two or even going to the beach with Miggs , as we have two very nice clean dog beaches down by the lake with in minuets drive from us , we love it there it is so much fun .
Any who that's about it for us for now got to go close the windows up and turn on the AC it is getting sticky once again .
Until next time .

Good morning. Love your This & That shots, and as always, Miggs is adorable.
It was pleasant to look at your bird pics as I sit in the cr repair shop -- for two hours now.
Your photos are wonderful, Elaine. I have a few nuthatch around here, too. I find them quite comical. Really hot here again today. The humidity is sickening. :( "Hi Miggs."
The hummers are fun to watch.
We got rain in the night, and a little bit during the day. It seems unsettled, but humid. I hope this is the last hot spell of the summer.
Aww, sending a belated lovely anniversary wish, and also to sweet Miggs on her birthday, I'm sure a grand time was had by all.
Your pictures are always so wonderful, I really like the water-feature in your garden.
Cute little birds, how they entertain us so :)
Hugs,
~Jo
Hello Elaine. I loved catching up with what has been happening in your neck of the woods. Our days are definitely cooler and we've had some rain. Next week is supposed to warm up though. We have our daughter's two dogs starting tomorrow, so our house will be a zoo. Lots of walking for me.
Loved seeing all your birds. Have a great Friday!
Hugs,
Noreen
That is a really neat water feature for your garden!
Happy Anniversary! and Happy Birthday Miggs! It was nice reading about various happenings around your place :) Your birds are going to love the new water feature once word gets out! Looks like another hot & hazy day today ... red sky out this way. Have a great weekend,
Wendy
What a cute water feature you have! I always enjoy your pictures around your yard and learn about what's going on. The hummingbirds have been busy here too and I expect one day soon they will be gone. That makes me sad. Have a great weekend!
Glad you have been enjoying some good weather! Nice dog ♥

We caught a quick glimpse of the nuthatch the other day but couldn't get a photo of it. The moon has been lovely lately, even viewing it during the day on some days. Getting the laundry done and out on the line as it is a lovely day. Enjoy the weekend.
It was good to see the cute little bird doing all things. Enjoy the climate:)
