Holly molly I haven’t seen an invasion of bugs like this before . We have hundreds and thousands of lady bugs all over the house and all the sheds I look out the windows and all I see is lady bugs all over them !  Giving me the heebeegeebees! YUK !

OCTOBER 2015 (12 of 18)

The weather has been so warm and sunny here they  are in droves literally ! Funny how I don't see them on any one else's house HMM  !!  They look to get in to hibernate they don't lay eggs or mate whilst in side and these don't bite either they just want a warm place to sleep all season , they aren't lady bugs per say they actually are Asian Lady Beetle's apparently real lady bugs have only two spots on them   Huh who knew lol ! Oh well I call them lady bugs anyways lol !

Any who !! I have been busy with inside stuff  , yeah know cleaning and organizing stuffs . Our gardens are all done now and tidied  up for the season , all bare and sad BOOHOO !! But still cleaning up leaves !

Hence the name PINE  Siskin , well that’s were they were in the big pine trees way at the back of the property !

OCTOBER 2015 (17 of 18)

Can you see them amongst all the pine cones  ? One in the center up a bit  and the other is at the far right just a bit down near the edge of the photo  !  No ? well let me show you !

I wish some of that heat would come this way. I love the photos of the pine siskins and all those cones! Great selfie too! That's a lot of ladybugs. We've had a few around on the days when it's sunny but not like that. Creepy. I do find the odd one in the bedroom too. I think they sneak around the window edge somehow. Have a good afternoon.

Those birds really do blend in!

I've seen the odd ladybug around, but not much of them thus far.

It is sad to have to clean up all the gardens and fun stuff but it sure feels good when it's done. All that I have outside now is bird feeders, houses & baths. Oh, and Sid. :)I've never seen that bird before. I'll have to watch for them. Lots of pine here. "Hi Miggs."

Come by my house and you'll see those ladybugs. Goodness knows where they are all coming from. It was sunny but windy, so I couldn't work outside as the wind bothered my eye. Hubby got another round of leaves raked, mulched and bagged. The composters are overflowing with leaves so these are going to a wildlife sanctuary not far from here. They use them for bedding for the animals they rescue over the winter.

Again, I love your photos, and have forgotten that we also get an invasion of the "Asian Lady Bugs" this time of year as well -- The side of our barn was covered with them last year, and I'm sure this year will be no different. It would be different if they were the cute red ones, wouldn't it?

I also feel the same way you do about the end of the season and the garden clean up -- I think Miggs agrees!

Take care, and thank-you for the kind words you've left on my blog for Buddy!

Beautiful birds, and they blend in really well with the changing leaves. You will be ready to anticipate the Spring emergence of your plants. Love the picture of Miggs looking down the road...wonder where he thinks it is going?

These are of that blasted orange variety (unless your white balance is off). They infest the cottage every winter when the heat comes on. I don't know where they go or what they do in summer.

You must have my share of ladybugs as I've seen hardly one around. Pouring rain today so my afternoon walk is put off until we can get out.
We do however have an invasion of sow bugs in the house again - I think it's from my emptying one of the compost bins into the gardens to make room for leaves that stirs them up. Have no idea how they get in but they're everywhere!

There have been masses of ladybirds here this year too! Must be a worldwide invasion of them! xx

We had a ladybug invasion several years ago here too. It was awful!

Sorry I missed the lovely post until now!! I could not but help but think of mama and how she hated those lady bugs. Hundreds of them would come inside to spend the winter with her. I've heard that lady bugs are attracted to white houses and those small green stink bugs like brown houses. We live in a log home and seriously find little green stink bugs all winter! I've never seen a pine Siskin. They are really hard to spot in that pine tree.
