Cold Clouds

Yes these deep greyish clouds are holding snow in them . They came over yesterday at about 4pm and we had a rain snow mix . Thankfully the snow was to wet to stay on the ground  but boy oh boy has the temps ever dropped and the winds have that arctic nip to them .

OCTOBER 2015 (1 of 5)

OCTOBER 2015 (3 of 5)

I do like clouds and the more layers and colour they have in them the more dramatic they look . I also like big puffy white clouds that hang in the mid air in a blue sky all on their own .

The temps dropped to  0C last night but we here in the valley don't always get frost but the top of the valley does . This morning the temps are 2°C Feels like –1 or 36°F Feels like 30 and not rising much more either  as the winds will keep it colder then it is . Well the furnace  is on now and Papa and I are off outside to finish up the rest of the garden clean up and leaves  and that will be that for the season . Oh I better get out there Papa and Miggs just went out the door  and I am still in my jammies . At least the sun has risen and is shining  so that will help ! When we come in maybe have a nice fire going and relax for the rest of the afternoon and evening !

Laters all !!!  , until next time , stay cozy it is BRR !! out there .

Be glad you didn't get the snow we got last night! No final garden work here today.

Beautiful photos of the grey clouds.....
This does me realize that your summer (wheather) is so much shorter than we have here.

We had those low temperatures too, and did see a bit of frost, but no white stuff falling from the sky. It's lovely and sunny out today but we did have a couple of heavy downpours of rain Friday evening. After the rain we had a lovely red/purple sky which didn't last long at all, so no photos. Enjoy Saturday.

The clouds are beautiful but I would rather the snow stayed away.

They do have that ominous look. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow.

Those are some beautiful but threatening clouds....I can't believe it's snow time already seems just too soon.

Although Calgary had snow in August...so why should I be suprised.

I love those dark clouds but knowing they hold snow is not so nice. Big white puffs in blue skies are my favourites. :) We had frost this morning and it's raining today at 5C. There are reports of snow in some areas. Brr.

Dramatic cloud action you got going there Elaine. Great photos! It doesn't take too long to get this sudden dip in temperature does it? It wasn't so long ago we had days in the 90s and now it's downright nippy today and getting down to 40s at night. Have a great weekend :)

Great photos. It is cold here tonight so I brought all my mums inside.
Wish I could bring in the resident birds, too. :)

What a dramatic sky! We are no where near as cold as you yet but very wet so the gardening is going to be interesting today. Has to be done and then that will be it until February. Take care and keep warm xx

We had a few flakes here, but I don't think the frost actually settled last night. Not sure though.
