This & That

It has been nice to have Papa home from work the past few days  as it is his mid winter break . Miggs is loving having him home to !

FEBUARY 2015 (3 of 28)

The weather has been snowing on and off and mostly overcast . We spent most of the day yesterday in the city of London Ontario as I had a Dr’s appointment , the drive up was nice we just took our time and enjoyed the scenery of farms and driving through small towns along the way , it is about an hours drive for us . After the appointment we drove half way home and stopped in the small town of Aylmer to do our grocery shopping as this town is 20 min from us and where we do some of  our shopping the rest of our stuff we go to another town 20 minuets the opposite way from us called Tilsonburg  , one town has stores that the other doesn’t and vice versa lol ! So after all that we were glad to get back home .

The weather this morning started out cloudy but just before noon the sun made it through and it has been lovely ever since .  Miggs and I went for a walk and Papa did the vacuuming for me   always a big help !

The Crows have been gathering at the feeders enjoying the seed and teasing Miggs  . This is one of the Crows I named George .

Then George was accompanied by his Mrs , Margaret . Did you know Crows mate for life and the young stick around  with them as well ? So we have George , Margaret and Junior  that love to visit our yard and hang about .

Then we have the Squirrels , this is a newbie as he is a little fellow and I have never seen him here before as he feasts on the seed to !

Mr Cedar head snowman Papa built over the weekend isn’t doing to bad considering he is a bit eyeless and toothless now but oh well these things happen lol !

Miggs was out enjoying the cold snow and warm sun watching the birds and critters in the yard and I think still trying to figure out the snow man and why he just sits there day and night lol  !

I am really liking how the sun  is setting later each day that we  do get  the sun  like this afternoon not a cloud in the sky and soo blue it is  and getting stronger as it hits the roves  heating them up and you can see them steam  making the snow melt  as it drips off  . This evening the sun will set at 5:45 pm  awesome ! and it rises earlier now to   . I always watch it’s change in position each day  as to where it sets and rises as that tells me how close spring is getting  .

Each day the birdies and critters happily  feast  at my feeders  and entertain me as does my Miggs , we go for  nice walks , Papa is home for this week   and when  the sun shines it shines a  little longer each day   . Things are good   .

                                                                                       Until next time !

Those crows are smart birds, after all.

My parents had friends in Tilsonburg, as I recall.

The birds and squirrels really need a bit of an assist in the food category, and they serve to be entertainment for our Miggs.

I don't know why but for some reason I thought you lived over in the Ottawa area???? No wonder you have a bit of snow, now I know where you live.

As always great photos.

Gosh, after taking a while for the snow to come, a lot of it has fallen with you now hasn't it! xx

Love the first shot with Papa and Miggs running towards the camera. Your photos are great and yes I would say you still have quite a lot of snow up there. They say be careful of what you wish for but apart from the few dustings we have had, I would love a 'real snow' but I would be a bit selfish knowing how people can have such difficulty getting around in it. May it could snow on a weekend and disappear on a Monday? Always wishful thinking, ha!

That was quite a road trip for appointments and groceries. It would be a pretty drive though. It's been mostly sunny here but so cold. The sun has set here at about 5:45 too which I am loving. It has moved considerably across the sky since the winter solstice. Now if it would just warm up a bit more!! Have a good evening.
