Family Day

Here in most of  Canada this day  we have  Family Day . It is also Papa’s last day of his mid winter break BOOHOO ! it has been nice to have him home with us for the week ! but I guess as of tomorrow it is back to the old grind for him .

It has been so very cold here  the past few days  that the weather network  has had a dangerous cold warning  across the board .  Temps have been any where from –30 C to –35C and colder with the wind chills but the good thing is the sun has been shining . We have basically stayed indoors other then to fill feeders for the birds and critters  . I have been going crazy as I love the outdoors so I sucked it up got bundled and layered up took Miggs for a walk and we played in the snow for a bit the sun was shining the wind was calm and I was warm and toasty and barley able to move with all the clothing on lol  . Papa took these photos !

FEBUARY 2015 (4 of 9)

Miggs loves the snow and cold , we think she has Husky in her and  is always looking for someone to be out there with her to play . Trying to get her to come in the house and warm her bones as we tell her is a chore lol !

FEBUARY 2015 (5 of 9)

We were playing tug of war with her frozen rope lol  She is a strong girl and can pull me over and I am no light weight lol

FEBUARY 2015 (6 of 9)

The fact that I was laughing gave her a bit of advantage here  cause once I get laughing all goes to pot as me mum would say lol !

FEBUARY 2015 (8 of 9)

Miggs tries to get around me to get her rope and then she does this move we call the Miggy hug as she leans against you half wraps her self around you  like she is hugging you .

FEBUARY 2015 (9 of 9)

HA!! looks like I won that tug of war finally lol !

The temps have warmed up a bit now –16C  that’s warm compared to what it has been lol . Miggs and I had fun and are all in cozy watching movies . The kids are doing well I talked to them for a bit on Facebook earlier today  they are working going to school and all doing fine  we hear from them from time to time but they all have their own lives and so that is  just the way it is at least they are all healthy and happy .

                                                                                Until next time .

Any chance to play with Miggs is a good one.

It felt milder today, but only because the winds had died down.

Dogs and children are a great match, especially with one like Miggs!

Layers, layers and layers! The only way to stay warm these days. Brrr...it's been brutal outside. But it looks like you're having a great time despite the cold.

It sure was a cold family day, but lovely and sunny. Our daughter's dog (boxer) loves the snow. We spent some time visiting the grandkids.

Hi there, Just about the time I think it's cold here-you write about real cold. It's been windy here today so most of our snow is melted. Hope you have a wonderful week. Thank you for your kind thoughts on my recovery.
Hugs,
Noreen

I feel bad for you as I sit here with the blue sky and sun coming in through the window. I am glad that it is warming up a little - as if minus 16 is warm! Now that it is lent it means that easter is on the way, so spring will nearly be here!! xx

Hope you were as warm in our gear as Miggs was in her fur coat, Elaine? And, yes we do know about that feeling when we are forced to be inside. We get out as much as possible to walk, but when sidewalks are snow-packed and/or icy it's not much fun walking in the street.
