Happy May

WOW ! I cant believe it is May already  .  The weather is sunny but the winds are chilly a lot different from the heat wave we were in this time last year .

Spring 2013 (10 of 47)

My Lilac bushes were all in full bloom this day last year to ! Today they have thick buds

on ready to pop soon .

The Baltimore Oriole was back  this day last year ! Still waiting for him !

Everything this year seems later then last year and the years before  because of the long harsh winter  we had and all the weather that is going on now around the world   but the good thing is May is here and I am going to enjoy all it has to offer .

                                                                             Happy May To all !

Until next time my friends !

Well you know what they say... good things come to she who waits.
And indeed the flowers will bloom and the birds shall sing and we will rejoice.
Enjoy the day in the merry merry month of May.

Beautiful pictures...they made my morning cheery! We're having a late spring here too. I haven't touched my perennial beds yet, and last year at this time I was finished mulching! Thanks for the beauties!

It poured of rain this morning and I've just been walking around the garden where everything is well and truly water logged. I was checking back to last years photos and we are a couple of weeks behind as far as growth on various plants.

A time of renewing.

We have one lonely little daffodil in bloom. It looks so forlorn all by itself.

It really is that time of year when we don't know how much to wear when we set out for the day. I made the mistake of wearing a winter coat when by noon I was regretting it.

I just saw some graphs showing how each of the last 6 months has been colder than average. Our daffs are out and other plants are sprouting.

Yes May is here, finally but you wouldn't know it compared to last year for sure. I hope this means we have a longer summer. I would wait for oriels as well - we don't have any here on the Island that I know of and I think they are so beautiful.

My hyacinths are just starting to poke through the ground, my tulips are looking just green, and my daffodils are not even showing yet. Glad I could look at yours and remember what spring looked like. Wonderful pictures, great close-ups of the Lilac... soon be patient it will all come soon enough.

Our flowers were late as well, Elaine, and the late blooming means you could have them around a bit longer, hopefully. We also had a lot of rain this week and it cleared up enough for us to do the yard work and cut grass on Sat afternoon.
