Busy Weekend

The weather has been beautiful , sunny and warm . Papa , Dad and our family friend  we will call  here Mr R  has been putting in a sliding patio door for us in the kitchen where the old door was .

                                                       BEFORE !

                        New Door (1 of 1)-3

With these guys there is a lot of jokes sing songs and reciting as they work , it is funny to hear them . Our dad and R when they get together are always like that  , I roll my eyes look up to the sky  , Brits , a strange breed lol !

New Door (1 of 1)-4

They had been working since the early morning till late afternoon!

                      New Door (1 of 1)-5

They worked for hours on this as they had to strip away walls , siding  and electrical had to be moved and tend to  the way the old farm house was built which isn’t always the best !

They put the door in  made sure no buggies could get in from around the edges and called it a day !

Yesterday Papa re located and hooked up the wiring for the inside lamp , switches and the outside lamp as well as dry walled the inside and prepared it to be completed !

                                                              AFTER !

And there we have a new sliding door in my kitchen . Oh does it ever make a big difference so much lighter . Miggs and Harley like it  Harley has a new spot now to watch the birdies  lol ! Miggs likes it cause she can see what's going on inside to !

This is a double sided door and has handles on both inside and out and  you can  have the screen on either side to  and use either side to !

I can see the entire back yard now WOOHOO !  Papa still needs to do the finishing touches inside and out but it looks good ! Really suits the look of the kitchen inside and out !  Our hutch we had there is to be modified  for the space .  The base of the hutch is in the living room  the actual hutch part Papa will work his magic on that in his  wood shop later  and build a new base !

We are very pleased with our new patio door and all the light it gives to this old farm house kitchen ! Mr R will be back later to cap the outside to finished it off !  Mr R has had his own window company for many years and is semi retired now .

Then after all this Papa had lots of thick green grass to cut and trim around the gardens and property . Everything has been blooming and growing like crazy including the weeds  lol !

So that was our busy weekend .

Until next time  .  Thanks for popping by !

You will love that new patio door, for all the reasons you said, more light, and you can see more of your back yard. Miggy will appreciate it more than you!!!
