Finally Spring Has Sprung

 

Snow is all gone temps are warming up but the breeze has a slight chill to it still . The nights have been above 0 and day’s have had more sunshine .

Miggs and I were out side yesterday evening after supper playing fetch and I taking photos whilst Papa was in his shop puttering .  The winds were calm the air was fresh and all the birds were singing , Geese flying over honking , Crows cawing in the fields  and I taking it all in .

         The sun set through the clouds at about 7:45 pm    I love the sky in the evening as the sun reflects off of the clouds !

                           The sky was a mix over the valley of blue grey , orange and white !

                    Mr Robin was chattering away and singing to us high up in our old oak tree .

Miggs was following me around whilst I was taking photos so I would through her rope ball for her every now and then ! Gota keep our girl happy !

                     Lilac bushes are full of buds !

Papa was in his work shop  cleaning and working on something , I could here some tools being used .

                       All the sights and sounds I love  any time of the day or evening !

It is our Easter Good Friday and Papa is home so we will get out and do some yard work and Papa will be back in his shop . I will take Miggs for a walk and then putter for the afternoon and evening as the weather is sunny and warmer today !

                Tomorrow we will be going to my in laws for a family Easter dinner . Oh we have so far to go to get there NOT ! they just live next door lol !

Back To Normal !

 

Miggs is her old self  again thank god ! I was  beginning to get very worried with the way she was , no energy couldn’t lay or sit still and looked like she was hurting .

I think she had some sort of tummy ache  but all seems to be working fine now !

I would like to thank all those who sent well wishes for our girl Miggs !  She sends you all a big doggie slurp !

Today she is back to her old self bright eyed  and bushy tailed  , we went for a nice walk played fetch and she  chased  squirrels  . My Miggs is back WOOHOO !

The weather today is chilly but nice and dry . The birdies are singing loud and proud . Papa gets tomorrow off so a long weekend for us and the weather is to be warm and sunny  YIPPEE ! I feel  and see now spring has finally sprung !  WOOHOO !

Saturday we are going next door for a family Easter supper at my in laws , there will be a house full of family  , friends , laughter and YUMMY food .

Miggs Is Under The Weather Today

 

Papa and I woke this morning at 4:30 am , poor Miggs was sick twice and that is rare for her . She has been down and out since . Now I know she is what we call a bucket mouth and eats anything and everything but she is in the yard and there isn't anything she can eat that’s out of the ordinary . Now she does eat bunny poop but has for years and it causes gas but that usually gets rid of at bed time thanks Miggs as she stinks us out usually lol  I have read that bunny poop wont hurt them as it is full of nutrients  and our vet said it wont harm her either a while back when we  asked them before about it !

So today I am keeping a close eye on her . She cant seem to stay still or lay down for a long time as she is fidgety and maybe in pain .  So I tried rubbing her tummy as if it was gas It may help it move on out either up or down well she thought that was good as Miggs always enjoys a tummy rub .Oh I wish animals could talk and tell us what’s wrong or what hurts and where ! I feel so helpless . Miggs has been doing  what they call the stretch/ bowing , that’s when they stretch their body and bow down  their front, that is an indication of  either gas , tummy or bowel troubles , like a belly ache . I hope it is just something as simple as that and it gets worked through and it isn’t anything more serious   . She never cry's when in pain she is the opposite she is quiet and with drawn and very sucky to but who can blame her poor thing she is trying her best to tell us what's wrong , we just do not speak dog .

I have tried to have her inside but she prefers to be out side during the day even as it is chilly damp and some what cloudy today . She tries to put up a good front and we went for a walk earlier and played a bit in the yard but she just wasn’t into it at all which ya all know that’s not our  playful happy go lucky Miggs , but she just doesn’t have it in her today !

               Dogs are funny this way as they can feel yucky just like us from time to time !

               Hoping this is just a blah day for her and it will pass , no pun intended  or in Miggs case  today pun intended  so she feels better !

Spring , Where Are You ?

 

It  was spring like yesterday all though the temps were to be desired as it still had a chill in the air but it was nice out .  Then we woke this morning to a dusting of snow on the ground winds and now it is snowing a fine snow , thankfully it is melting more or less on contact  but still Where the heck is  spring . I thought putting my spring garden flag  up would help but nooo !

I thought turning one year older may work  today  yes it is my B-day and I want to go back to bed Ba Humbug . I am young at heart but old in the mind lol  and this weather bums me out  , I have had enough of snow and cold !

                                     

                                                  Yup that’s me  47 years  ago on this day  !

This is me on the farm at 5 years old  with my kittens Timmy & Fluffy  and yes it was real spring weather then !

This was Bamby  we looked after him because his mama passed away and he was wondering the country roads  again it was spring time .

This photo is of me and the spring lambs  , I was always with the animals one way or another . This photo was also used as an add for the  Stelco  gate and fencing  company !     See the patterns here  around all my birthdays there was a spring .  What the heck happened to spring this year !    

                                                            This was spring this time last year !                         

                        I guess it will show up soon , I hope !    Maybe I will make a cake today !

A Quiet Sunday

 

Yesterday Papa and I went grocery shopping . I did some laundry and cleaning and Papa worked in his shop and finished the bottom door of my pantry he built for me ! ! Here is a link to the post I did about my pantry Papa built for me  http://viennacountrycove.blogspot.ca/search?q=pantry

                                                                 Today it is a quiet day !

The clouds are rolling here and there as the sun peeks out every now and then the temps are chilly but fresh . Miggs and I went for a nice walk  saw some neighbours out stopped for a chat or two then came home and Papa had the fire going in the fire pit as he was tidying up the yard a bit .

I filled my birdie feeders and we played ball with Miggs for a bit then stood by the fire catching it’s warmth and wonderful scent .  It was close to lunch time so we came in and I cooked a nice  lunch of eggs, bacon with cheese on  lightly toasted English muffins  . Now Papa and I are  relaxing for the day doing what ever or nothing lol  the girls are having their afternoon naps , sounds good maybe I will to .

Under A Spring Sunrise

 

I was up earlier then usual this morning as I knew the sun was to shine so I wanted to capture some things under the light of the first  2013 Spring  sun rise !

I was out side at 7:30 am just as the sun was rising , it was cold but fresh and the sounds around me were wonderful . Robins chirping and singing , Cardinals to , Crows cawing and Geese honking as they fly past  , Blue jays squawking  Sparrows chattering  , Chickadee’s chirping, Roosters crowing from the farm down the road . Early morning light  is the best time for taking photos of birds as they are still groggy from sleeping and don't move to quick lol  kind of like me in the mornings lol ! So out Miggs and I go !

These clouds were moving away from the sun in the east and traveling to the south over Lake Erie !

                                               This springs first sunrise over the valley !

           Mr Robin high top the tree just waking up and still puffed up as the sunrise shines on him !

                                          Looks like this little guy is still sleepy to !

                                          Can you see all the buds on the trees !

                          Mr Cardinal was singing his heart out as it echoed through the valley !

                  Miggs couldn’t figure out why I was out soo early as she followed me around !

One lonely Goose flying to the river ! I guess he had an early start to his day and left all the others still snoozing !

Last but not least my buddy Charlie Junior ! Who squawks at me every morning just like his daddy did !

   After about an hour taking photos Miggs and I went for our walk earlier then normal but took a bit of a longer stroll as it was nice out .

                               Spring is slowly showing it’s trueness through the birds and the buds .

Happy First Day Of Spring

 

It maybe cold out for the first day of spring today but the sun is shining and there is a dusting of snow on the ground . Miggs and I went for our walk this morning then played in the back yard and I took some photos .

The birdies know it is now spring time as they were happily feeding , singing and chatting away !

                          Oh look my Hyacinth's are beginning  to pop  above  the ground now !

                                                              So are my Daffodils !

                                  The birdies were very busy at the feeders this morning !

                                 They were all flapping about and pushing each other around .

                                         And some were even sharing with each other !

                                       Miggs and I were having fun playing ball !

                                      Starlings also hogging the suet and scoffing !

A bit of spring colour inside to ! These two pieces I got from the dollar store . I love the dollar store !

So regardless of it being cold and maybe the odd dusting of snow there are many signs that spring is pushing through !

This Time Last Year

 

Well, Spring is to start tomorrow  , um yeah not here yet we are in the midst of a winter storm very high winds and cold with flurries and a mixed bag of what ever mother nature wants to throw at us  it has been like this  since yesterday . They predict we wont see Spring till April !

This time last year we were in the 70’s and lots of sun and all was blooming in the gardens !

I was out in my gardens this time last year !

                                      Miggs was loving the warm sunshine and grass !

                                 We were out cleaning the yard and having a fire .

                                                                 Birdies were  happy !

                                                              And critters were to !

                          I guess we will just have to wait for  Spring  to arrive a bit later this year  !

Google Reader Shutting down

         

                     By July 1st 2013

             Not to panic !

            I find it hard to explain here so I will do my best  lol !

What it does is read websites , blogs Twitter feeds , RSS feeds etc.   So basically if you do not use Google Reader you are ok .   Google Reader is a RSS  reader there fore if you do not use it , it will not affect you in any way  .

If you use Google Reader I have read that there are other substitutes .  Such as  Feedly, Bloglines , Pulse , Old Reader  and Newsblur .

I have read Google Reader is shutting down do to  not having a large enough customer base .

I just wanted to clarify this for those of you that may be wondering if it affects you !

     Isn’t all the techno babble confusing ? I think it is , thankfully I have a techno geek in Papa  or I would be lost in here lol !

All Fresh & Clean

 

Saturday Papa and I just puttered  and Miggs and I went for a walk .

Yesterday was Miggs doggie spa day . She got the works  ,shampooed , buzzed , ears ,  and teeth cleaned  and nails cut and filed  .

                          No more shaggy matted fur all smooth and soft now and smells good to  !

Whilst Miggs was at the spa Papa and I went and looked around in stores that we haven’t been to for quite some time as we had to be in the city for Miggs . We don't go to the city much as it is an hour away. I got some new rubber boots from Canadian Tire that I really needed as the last ones feel apart and a few other bits and pieces for the kitchen from the dollar store , Then we went to the Future shop , Papa got a new mouse for his computer as his was not working , stopped at Timmy’s for a treat I love their Blueberry fritters and my fave English Toffee Coffee . Did a few more things then we got the call that Miggs was ready . Picked her up and home we came !

Well Old man winter just won’t give up , we are to be getting snow , rain , freezing rain and high winds  . I am beginning to wonder if Spring will make it by the end of the week .  I guess it will in it’s own time !  I guess the  kids are back to school now that their March break is over as I just heard and saw the school bus go by  .
