What Have We Here ?

 

I went out this morning to feed the birds with Miggy and to sit on the patio and have my tea , when all of a sudden Miggy was by one of the trees in the back and standing her ground barking her head off tell something off.

I went to see what it was she was barking at and low and behold it was a baby possum in the live trap . Now we had already caught 2 racoons in the past week as they were being very rambunctious and emptying my nectar feeders I have hanging in the tree . But I out smarted them and removed the feeders every night so no night critters could get to them and destroy them . Well this little guy was just to curious for his own good , the trap was left open but there was no bait in it , he  must of got to curious and got himself caught.

This little guy is nasty , mined you he must be scared but still most of the critters we trap are quiet but this little guy showed his teeth and growled at me quite a few times. So he is in the shade now and I am just waiting for him to cool off a bit so I can release him !

If he gets to on the defensive I will have to wait till Papa gets home from work and he can release him !   Papa mostly is the one that releases all the critters we catch !

Another Day In Our Yard !

       We have bunnies that like to hide amongst my flowers and bushes in the garden and Miggy , whom is always getting told to get out of the garden waits for them to emerge !

           She’s watching me as well waiting to tell her to get out of the gardens !

                                 I am sure these two are plotting  against Miggy !

                              This mama was feeding her baby in flight !    Talk about fast food lol !

   This is some of what goes on in our yard most of the time and I love it all especially to practice my photography !

Foggy Morning !

 

I went out early this morning in my  jammies to take photos of the sun rise struggling to shine through the cloud and fog over the valley .

The birds were waking up , crickets chirping and the roosters on the farm down the road from us were crowing ! 

The air was damp , cool but sticky feeling . I think as the fog lifts we are in for a sticky humid day again . We had lots of rain thankfully and our gardens are buffed up and proud looking !

              Miggy was wet from rolling on the damp grass as she watched me taking photos.

This is what she looks like after shaking the water off as she gets her balance back , silly dog !

Beautiful Rain !!

 

We had rain finally last night and a thunderstorm and it is still raining on and off this morning .

I knew we were getting rain for sure cause my legs started to ache.

The clouds in the evening looked amazing as it was gearing up for the storm . Papa and I went out to photograph the clouds .

       They were coming fast and were so amazing looking ! Eerie and mysterious but beautiful !

I love how the sky looked as the sunset was still  setting as the clouds were forming and slightly separating !

        No adjustments to my photos here this is exactly what the sky and clouds looked like !

                                              It was humid and hazy as well !

                                   I was glad I was able to capture it as it really was !

            Papa took time laps photos of this and I just too photos . They all worked out quite nice !

      Our gardens, bushes and trees are singing the happy rain song after a month and a bit of no rain !

Hey Every One !

 

How’s it going . Hope all are having a good week so far ?

It’s been quiet at the Cove this week , just puttering around ,weeding and tending to my gardens and plants .  We have had a drought for over a month now and Papa and I have been trying to keep our gardens happy by watering them every eve as the sun sets . Still hot and humid in the afternoons but the early mornings have been cool for Miggy and I to go for our walks . They say rain and storms tonight right through tomorrow but they have said that before and the rain and storms just keep going around us !

With a bit of  luck and maybe a rain dance or two the rains will come to the Cove !

     Took this earlier today . Lots of different types of birds here under the feeders . The grass is brown and yucky !

                     Hummy and all the other birds always have something to drink here !

                    Clouds of all kinds are starting to roll in now so lets hope the rains come here !

Hi There !

 

We are still here , just have been busy .  I try to read as many blogs here as I can and find the time as well to post but some times life gets busy doesn’t  it ?

We took more photos at our Saddle clubs event yesterday . It was very hot and humid but that never stopped anyone from having a good time . There were some new members which is cool cause all horse and riders are different and that makes for great photos . Papa and I are slowly putting a business together of our  K & E Photography . We do it as a hobby but if people want to buy photos they are more then welcome to do so . We do DVD’S  as well as specialty prints . It is just starting to get going word of mouth and as of yesterday we had the riders sign a model release form  they were all for it, gifted them with a DVD of all of them in last months event and gave them our business cards and a price list of prints with or without frames !

So we have been busy as Papa works during the week and I am getting the ideas and searching for ways to make this business grow a bit !

I’m Back !

 

Did you miss me ?  I know I missed all of you .

Thanks so much to all of you for your kind words and support it helped a lot !

Papa and I have a grip on the finances now and all is ok  we got help . So on wards and up wards I say !

Hey we finally got rain , WOOHOO ! 2 days of it and a night and it still is raining a bit this morning , the humidity has gone for now !  It is cool and fresh and I have my windows open .

I must get back into taking photos ,this past week has been a killer , I don't feel myself with out camera in hand  all though I did go through all my photos on my computer and was amazed at how many I have Holly Molly I have close to twenty thousand of them  , I guess that's why Papa calls me Snap Happy . I love the continuous mode on my camera that's for sure lol !

Well , I have things to do today as this past week  I haven’t felt like doing much , so back on track we go .

                                  Again , thank you to you all for your support !

                    Nothing like Butterfly’s and wild flowers to put a smile on ones face !

Just Popped In !

 

To say HI ! to you all and let you know we are still here !

I have been on a blog break due to a bit of stress and upset . See , Papa and I are in a bit of a financial dilemma , I find it hard to admit  to myself  let alone anyone else but it’s  just one of those things we all have been in and I haven’t felt much like blogging right now as I haven’t been taking photos or doing much fun things other then crunching numbers and trying to find ways to get us out of it !

We had a bit of rain on Saturday that passed but nothing worth while , seems the rain and storms go around us here at the Cove .

                       I hope you all are doing well and coping ok with this heat wave !

                           I will pop in every once in a while and try to keep up with your posts !

Welcome To Cove Café !

 

                                     The Café of nectar !

I like it !  A  Café  for nature’s creature's to stop and take a break and have some nectar  sweets  from our gardens and feeders !

   This guy is here every day for hours just drinking the nectar from my cone flowers and seems to like having his photo taken !

    This little guy is the same , he stops here all day on and off for his Café treat as well !

    Hey  , That give’s me an idea for Papa  to make a garden sign that says Welcome To Cove Café !

The mornings have been breezy, cool and pleasant but by the afternoon hot and humid again then it seems to  get cooler again by the evening when the sun begins to set .

                       Papa was out in the yard last evening taking photos .

Supper Time At The Cove !

 

As I was making supper last evening , I happened to look out our kitchen window and saw that the critters and birds were also having supper , all gathered around the feeders .

           We had Squirrels , Birds and even Rabbits all sharing a meal ! Its like a critter picnic lol !

                 But of course this wouldn't be happening if Miggy was out side lol

                                            It would be scatter time !

         The critters and birds get along quite well here , not to much ruckus goes on over food !

This little guy has his own supper way over under the other feeders , see the rabbits here love the sunflower seeds that the birds drop from the feeders !

It Was A Cooler Morning

 

Hello .

Papa , Miggy and I have been staying in because it has been way to humid and hot out .

Today started out a bit cooler and not so humid so we went outside , Papa cut and trimmed the grass , power washed  and then we  puttered  for a bit .

We haven’t had rain for almost a week and a half and with the hot humid weather our flower gardens are holding their own as Papa and I try to keep them watered . There still isn't any rain in the forecast any time soon either !

After Papa was done power washing he and Miggy had a game of chase . He say’s to Miggy , gona getcha ! and she runs around like crazy wanting Papa to chase her !

              

                                She can be quite the nut at times , but fun !

The game of chase was short lived due to Miggy stops dead in her tracks and lay's down , tongue hanging out of the side of her mouth almost touching the ground ,  that's her way of saying that's enough she’s tired ! It was starting to get more humid again at this point so we took to the cool indoors for the rest of the day ! At least we were able to get out in the yard for a bit earlier !
