This & That

 

Hello all !

Hope everyone is having a good week so far .

The weather here has been amazing . No humidity , beautiful sun with cool breezes the kind of summer weather I remember when I was a kid !

I have been tending to my gardens , weeding , moving this and that , taking Miggy for walks and just enjoying the weather.

Papa painted our bird house flowers a pretty yellow and black for the centre of the flower . It was getting kind of boring to look at now so he decided to pop it with some colour ! I love it !

                            Just a few photos of what's growing in our front garden !

        Everything is beginning  to bush up fill out  and grow like crazy in all my gardens and planters !

I will be able to take so many photos now cause Papa bought me two more camera batteries . I use two at a time , I have what is called a battery grip , which attaches to your camera , gives you extra to grip the camera better I have a hand strap on mine as well and it holds two batteries . So as I am using two I can now always have the other two charged and vice a versa so I will never run out of battery  WHOOHOO ! I am even more  able to be a snap happy photo taking junkie !

Giddy Up At The Saddle Club !

 

Today Papa and I went to Evergreen Meadow Saddle club to take photos of the events . It’s run by a friend of ours Ron who just started the club a month ago . It was a fantastic day and between Papa and I we took over 2000 photos WOOHOO !  Lots of action shots , lovely smell of horses and nice people and weather YEEHAWW ! It has been years since I have been around horses I grew up on a hobby farm and had my own horse ! I miss them but this is AWESOME! I get to take photos of which I love to do of horses which I love, what more could a Country photo taking Gal ask for ?

        I have a few photos to share with you all what we saw and how fun it was for us !

        These are just a taste of the photos we were able to get  as the day went on and so did the events the better the photos were . Papa and I will be going to these events once a month as members and the photographers of Evergreen Meadows Saddle Club .

We have already been asked if we will sell the photos of their choice so on the side this is what we will do and possibly even more for the club  !

Finally !

 

Finally we have cool weather , sunny with cool breezes and no humidity . It is only 8:45 am Papa is out cutting the grass ,Miggy is herding the tractor every now and then and resting in the shade  lol.

I just finished marinating the steaks for tonight's supper , put the clean dishes away from the dish washer  and started my laundry to be hung out side !

Finally decided what to plant in the flower box on the fence between our sheds that Papa built . Since there is mostly shade there I went with Impatiens , they bush up and out and do cascade a bit , I tried to put  wave Petunias there but they just didn't look right to me so in went the impatiens . Then I got an Idea  OMG  !!  the light bulb went on lol ! I dug this old weathered chair plastic it is and put it in that garden between the sheds with a planter on it  EUREKA !! I liked it,  Hey  !  sometimes ya just have to work with what ya got !!! 

              So I will leave ya all with a few photos of my make shift garden between the sheds !

A Bit Cooler Today !

 

Ok it was cooler early this morning ! not any more now !

 

It wasn't to bad weather wise yesterday mind you it was hot but there was a nice breeze that kept it bearable . Miggy and I went for our walk  then we sat on the porch and I took photos . I know more bird photos “ eyes rolled to the sky “  but heck I love the birds we have here !

       A little Barn Swallow , I like these guys, they remind me of my life growing up on the hobby farm!

                Little Wren we named Molly singing her heart out , her mate has shown up now !

                  Mrs Robin searching for lunch in my gardens , no pecking my flowers missy !

                                        Miggy treeing a squirrel once again !

                    And of course the hummer that taunts and plays me every time I have my camera !

I was praying for rain as the weather has been hot and humid for a week now . I got my wish ,in the evening we had rain not a lot but just enough to give my gardens and planters a drink .

After the rains the sky was a beautiful pinky orange as the sun was setting whilst the rain clouds were clearing !

         It was soo pretty and strange ! I have never seen a sky quite like it as I was hanging out the upstairs hall window to get these shots and it was still raining a bit over head !

      Well that's all for now , looking forward to the weekend . Papa and I are going to a horse event and hoping to take lots of photos and that it doesn't rain or is to hot .

Still Hot & Humid !

 

As each day passes it seems to be hotter then the day before  but the good thing is the winds from lake Erie which we live a 6 min drive from has been keeping things bearable . Miggy and I have been keeping cool either in the house during the hot afternoons or sitting on our back porch , see we have that huge tree near our porch that  canopies over  a lot of that part of the yard  and porch and that also helps keep it cooler under our porch as well as the cool winds blowing through the porch , so it depends on how hot poor Miggy is whether we stay out or go in  as she has a fur coat in this heat , I cant imagine how hot she feels sometimes !

I rigged up our old beach umbrella over the pergola and bird fountain to keep the hot sun off the the birds water in the fountain .

Doesn't look pretty but it works that's the main thing for the birds to have plenty of cool water to drink in this heat !

            I refreshed all my nectar feeders for the little guys as well , they need a cool sweet drink !

               The mornings are cool under our porch as it faces west , the sun is in the east now and slowly getting higher , stronger and is moving to its highest hottest peak for noon, as it is only 9:30 am as I write this  and its nice and cool in here, still  Miggy and I are off to sit on the porch  and get some air  . I with coffee  and camera in hand  watching and photographing all that is going on in the yard  and Miggy ready to watch or chase the critters  .

First Day Of Summer & Wordless Wednesday

WOOOWEEE ! HOT, HOT, HOT !

 

It is hot here and going to continue for the next few days ! It wouldn't be so bad if it was just hot but here it’s the humidity that makes it worse !  It is to be 27°C º or 80.6 ºF but you factor in the humidity and it will be 40 ºC or 104 ºF ! Guess Miggs and I will be staying in where it is nice and cool ! We did however go for our walk early in the morning before the sun and heat really picked up !

                                                  Or we could play in the sprinkler lol !

Hot & Humid Weekend

 

We didn’t do to much this weekend as the weather was hot and humid  .

I still haven’t decided what plant I want to put in my planter box that Papa built , oh well no rush .

I would like to thank all of you who gave me some awesome suggestions as to what to put in the planter.

I hung my laundry out in hope’s that it wouldn’t rain as the  last few times I wanted to it did .

Papa put a small walk way in on Saturday between the hedges that they had cut a while ago in to an arbour shape they cut out of the hedges that separate our house and his parents .

                                     He started early in the morning to beat the heat .

                                     Of course Miggy has to supervise lol !

                                         Then Miggy saw a squirrel and treed him !

                       Always following Papa when he is on the tractor .

 

                        Miggy has a new toy , she was running around with it showing every one !

     Papa finished the walk way just in time as the heat and humidity  was getting worse . The rest of the day Papa , Miggy and I relaxed on the porch and watched a movie on Papa’s lap top sipping ice cold lemonade and relaxing .

Sunday it was raining all day , we popped over to mom & dads for a bit for Fathers day . Rainy days are indoor do what ever days for us  to, read , be on the computer , watch movies and even nap lol !

The rest of the week is to be very hot and humid . Miggy and I will be outside in the early mornings  when it’s cooler but come the afternoons we will stay in where it’s nice and cool .
