I absolutely love the tree picture!
My mother-in-law is having trouble with sparrows taking over bluebird houses and read that if you drill a 2 1/2" hole in the top of the house, the sparrows will leave because they don't like the hole, but the bluebirds don't mind. Don't know if that's the case with wrens. Wrens are my favorite. I love their pretty singing first thing in the morning!

I noted the comment Laura (above) made with respect to sparrows taking over the blue bird houses and am reminded that we are actually messing with the lives of all birds when we provide bird houses and feeders. In the wild, the birds have to pick and choose their nests or houses and are always on the lookout for suitable houses and who finds it first gets it. So the sparrow is a lot more aggressive, like starlings, and have survived for hundreds of years, now, in this country by making themselves at home. The house is there and there are many more sparrows than blue birds so I am not surprised that the sparrows got the house.

What an awesome tree, I can only imagine it's magnificence once it is fully-leafed.
Those little sparrows are the busiest bodies, and yes I'm sure she's thinking about taking that Wren's nest for herself :)
Sweet Miggy, always the happy girl :)

That tree is gorgeous. We had a huge oak that finally died and we had to have removed. We counted about 150 rings in it.
