A Busy Start To A New Month

WOW ! October already where do the months go  ?.

SEPTEMBER 2018 (1 of 1)

The busy start hasn't been for us but for our little road and neighborhood .  Across the road from us we have had workers busy here and there building a foundation  of a basement  for a week or two then On Friday we had the entire work crew with cranes and big trucks with a house on it . It was lots of interesting things going on and and Miggs and I spent the day watching and chatting to the workers their team and the new neighbors . They are a very nice older retired couple who bought the land and now have a nice bungalow modular home on it . Their family lives down the road in another part of  our valley village and they moved from a few hours away to be closer and the house they sold was now to big for them so here they are in our village , They have  already met our friends and neighbor's we mingle and chat with and my in-laws who also live down the street  and they fit right in with our neighborhood crowd .

I was taking photos and some video of their house being brought in and placed . All exciting for all here and amazing how they do this with the modular homes , they build them in the factory and truck to the location I have seen this done on TV but never live in real time . All I can say is WOW !  The  kitchen  cabinets , counters , cabinets for bathrooms , doors  and outlet's are already in the house when they put it in place all they have to do is hook it all up , pour the basement floor through the basement window and a few finishing touches inside and out and Walla  move in ready in 3 to 4 weeks .

I will just put the pics up of the house being placed . This is the second half .

All went smoothly and the workers got to work inside and out fast . We have had the past few days of rain but that hasn't stopped them , the siding is now being put on and eves troughs , then the step for the front porch will be done . The new neighbor's of this house will be  having a relative who has their own construction company  build the covered front porch and a garage in the back at the end of the driveway .

So that has been a busy side of the road and an exciting time for all  to start off the new month of October .

Miggs , Papa and I have been busy with yard clean up here and there just waiting for the rain to stop to continue to put the pond to bed all our water features cleaned up and stored and for me to finish putting my gardens to bed for the season .

I have a few little fall wreaths about that I bring out this time of year and put up about the yard  but I don't go hole hog with the decorating like I used to , less is more I say lol !

What a fascinating thing to watch, a new house in hardly any time at all. Have a lovely Thanksgiving weekend with your family.

I've seen that done before- there was a property next to ours which stood empty for years when I was growing up. Someone bought it, had a foundation laid down, and the house came one day in a set of four sections and was assembled.

You'd think there must be advantages to doing it this way.

Happy Thanksgiving.
