Papa’s Lightning Photos

On the weekend when the boys were down , Saturday evening we had a thunderstorm and all of us were out on the porch watching the lighting show as Papa was taking photos of it !

lightning-

Papa has his camera on  the tripod for these and has it on timed exposer for 30 seconds that means the cameras shutter stays open for 30 seconds then shuts  to capture the lightning .  This kind of photography  is called  Timed Exposure Photography. Papa has been very successful in this type of photography and over the years has captured fantastic shots of lighting .

This lighting was at the back of our property over the fields !

At times the lighting was so bright it lit the yard up as if it were day time !

Both Papa and I love thunderstorms and watching the lightning ! Fantastic shots Papa !

And we have snow on the ground this morning and  it is still snowing  but it is very wet snow so wont last long , more on that tomorrow , all I have to say is this weather is soo out of whack !

Until next time my friends !

Beautiful shots- I wish I knew how to do that with my camera. We have a freeze here, so maybe spring is about to make up her mind.

Amazing photos! We had some thunder and lightening the other day, but it was accompanied by snow. We're looking forward to our first rain storm. :)
Have a lovely one,
Lin

Wow is all I can say. We have the ability to have timed exposures but somehow never got into trying it. It would have helped with the photos from last night. I love lightning and Hunter is the first dog we've had that doesn't freak with thunder.
Hope your area warms up for you.
Tell your man, great photos.
Hugs, Noreen
