The Melt Down Has Begun

Yup the temps are rising the sun is shining practically every day and is strong  a mixture for melting our snow and I am glad of that .

Yesterday was a lovely day temps hit +2 and sunny all day and we were outside all morning till about 1pm . Papa was cleaning our roof off this time  , then when he cleaned a section that was a foot of snow he would then clear it from the path he dumped it in with the snow blower  .

This pathway was clear  lol  all this snow pile was just from one small section of the roof .

We had a lot of snow on the roof and if we were to of left it in this melt down well you know water will find it’s way into any nook and cranny and then we would end up with a leaky roof and that we don't want .

As you can see by the sun shining and the blue sky and winds were calm  it was a lovely day and mild  perfect for cleaning off the roof  and being outside .  After Papa had finished the cleaning he then went back up with pucks of some kind of  ice melt specially made for roves and placed them where we get ice dams  to melt what was there and to help prevent any more from building up as the nights are still very cold and what ice melts freezes again until it has all gone .

And of course Miggs supervised  and played and ate snow and laid in the snow and supervised some more lol !

When Papa was done the roof he then dug out our garden  lamps  solar part so that they get light and light up the dark back part of the garden in the evenings , mainly so we can see Miggs out in the dark and look  to see for critters that should not be there before we let her out  lol !

Another start to another mild sunny day this morning  so I am off  for a walk with my Miggs and enjoy the day !

Every day I am looking and listening for our Robins return they should return this

week as the temps are warming up !

                                                                                        Until next time .

First of all, I'm a little concerned with him straddling the ladder at the top! Yikes! Glad you got some of the snow off the roof, as I remember it getting frozen under shingles and leaking in. Miggs looks like she is having a ball out in the snow. So cute!

Looks lovely when the sun shines but it will take more sun to get that amount of snow to disappear!

A long tool like that comes in handy for roofs.

we need a slow and steady melt so we don't have a huge amount of flooding.

Love to see Miggs in the snow.

I always enjoy your posts about Miggs and Papa together in the snow, playing or working. I can imagine you are looking forward to spring and see some greens instead of all white.

I am glad that the snow is melting, you must be very glad too. It is good that it is melting because poor Miggs would have to eat a lot of snow otherwise to clear it! xx
