Comings & Goings

The weather here has been up and down . Chilly , windy , sunny, rainy , foggy and humid it has been a mix of all kinds .

I was sitting on the patio yesterday afternoon as it turned out to be a nice afternoon and took photos of the hummers or at least one hummer that is still hanging about .

Summer 2013 (2 of 17)-2

He was busy zooming from one feeder to the other .

Summer 2013 (6 of 17)-2

He chased off this other hummer and they nearly had a collision   .

Summer 2013 (11 of 17)-2

Then he was fighting off the wasps which are really bad this year . We cant sit out on the patio porch with food or drink or you will be surrounded by tons of wasps  and swapping them away for hours . They are dopey and hungry and they get right in your face and that drives me nuts lol !

Summer 2013 (12 of 17)-2

As for Miggs , she just finished chasing critters and now is taking a nap ready for the next game of chase lol .

In the evening our Harley was sitting up in the window of the living room swapping her tail like crazy and sounding like a banshee as she does when she sees something she wants to chase , looking down in the front garden . I caught a glimpse of this little guy , looks like this years baby who’s Mama is Theodore  .. I know we didn't  know at the time we named  this chipmunk if it was a  girl or boy lol  Theodore who has been in and out of the underneath of this garden step  since spring  with her mouth stuffed full of food .

Summer 2013 (15 of 17)-2

                                                                           Now we know why .

I sneaked a photo or two through the living room window

Summer 2013 (17 of 17)-2

Meet Alvin & Simon ! Or  they could be Arial & Simone !

These two are quite comical and love to eat the heads of my Marigolds that haven't bloomed yet as I saw one sitting up on a garden ornament we have there  chowing down on one lol ! Little buggers lol

Still lots of  activity going on in the yard and gardens as all prepare for the changing season if the weather ever figures out what it is doing . Lots of the summer creatures have gone but the odd few still linger  whilst others have arrived for the cooler season to get settled in .

We would like to  Welcome  our new followers .

Until next time …. Have a snap happy day !

Oh Alvin Simon Miggs and hummers all in one post I love it. Those wasps are bad this year do not worry winter is coming and they will be gone but sitting on your porch may require some bundling up:) B

The little chipmunks are adorable! I have only seen one around here last spring but we have lots of red squirrels. I hang one of those fake wasp nests every summer and it seems to keep them away from our deck area. Our big problem is houseflies in the summer as we live in farm country. Some days it's impossible to sit or eat outside.

The hummers are girls or youngsters...they are making the most of it aren't they?! Our chipmunks wait until the pansies flower then...CHOMP the flowers off!

Great photos of the hummers. We still have 1 or 2 flitting in and out. I've only got one feeder up for them now ... took down the bigger one and the oriole feeder as the darn wasps were emptying it before the hummers even got near it.
Lovely day today, but rain heading in over night and tomorrow.
