Beauty In The Beast

Today was a  nice fall day . Clouds floating over head and the sun peeking out every now and then with a fresh yet chilly breeze  blowing .

Today was the last event weekend of our horse club for the season . Miggs,  Papa and I are all fresh aired out now and I imagine so are all the riders and horses .

These  beasts  are so beautiful yet powerful and some are very big and can be quite intimidating to the non horse person . One girl’s horse was so feisty he would not let her mount so as I was close I held him so she could mount properly and he fought me but  in a stern voice and good grip I told him NO THAT’S ENOUGH !!!  and he stopped and looked  down at me with ears forward as if to say .. ok  lady I got it  !  here’s me  4”9  as she sit’s way up on him  and  said thanks . When I was younger I worked  and trained with horses and rode … like riding a bike I really don’t think you forget how to handle them !

Such gentle eyes they have ! It’s the ears you need to watch , forward means listening paying attention and happy , ears back , look out I am in a mood !

Such beautiful pictures. I adore horses. I stop on country roads often to photograph and pet them. Some of them are so wonderfully friendly. As soon as they see me approach, they run over to say 'hello'. It literally makes my day!

Great horse portraiture, as always, Elaine, and glad the weather improved from Saturday's all day rain.
