After the rain we had late yesterday afternoon I got my camera with my Micro lens and went out to take some rain drop photos .
I just can resist these prefect beads of water just sitting on the leaves gleaming like tiny diamonds !
Did you know there is a difference between Macro and Micro ? . There is often much confusion amongst photographers over the terms macro , micro and close up photography and how they differ. For starters, macro and micro usually refers to the same thing, in that Nikon names their range of ‘macro lenses’ with the word ’micro’. Canon on the other hand, calls them macro lenses.
The word macro means big, whereas the word micro means small. So how is it that these two terms are related?
If the subject you are photographing is small and you want to make it look big, you end up with a “macro” view of a “micro” subject. Just a bit of info . cause I have always been confused between the two !
Any who …. I walked around the gardens hunting for pretty little rain drops !
Some are stuck here on a web looking like they are floating in mid air !
Oh and of course I had to take a photo of our Miggs !
Lots of rain drops on my sweep peas twinkling in the light !
We had a thunderstorm roll through here earlier this morning and lots of rain but the humidity is still with us and it gets worse after the rains . The fog in the valley is thick because of all the moister !
It is to be a rainy morning here at Our Country Cove then sun shine for the afternoon !
Until next time …. have a good day !

Nice explanation between macro and micro. My Nikon camera has a close up setting which never turns out the same as a macro or super macro on my Olympus camera. And one of these days I'll get a macro lens for my Canon.
We had the thunder storms and rain overnight too and it is very cloudy this morning, probably more rain a bit later on.
I can't resist taking rain drop photos either. You captured some really good ones. You should join in with Macro Monday ( link at my site)
Love the water bead photos. Did you have wet shoes, when you came in.
Beautiful photos! The second photo with the water droplets sitting on the leaf is fantastic. I love this type of photography. It's so much fun.
great photos, but do love the one of Miggs, he looks so healthy and happy.

I love your new header collage! Your macro/micro shots are wonderful. I love taking them but I don't have a separate lens and use my setting on my small Canon. Someday I'll have a better camera and lenses. Enjoy the sunshine this afternoon. We are getting rain here and it's cool.
It is amazing how beautiful a simple rain drop can be ! Great pics I sure could use some rain here. Have a good day!
Good shots...I have to try that...Something different to try..
Miggs is a pretty girl in any view!
We were under a tornado warning here today...the wettest and coldest Labour Day I remember!

Your photos show the beauty of the rain that so many overlook--Including me!
I hope your day is ending on a good note!
My favorite kind of photos, Elaine...
Bravo!
Cheers!

Thanks for the explanations, Elaine. The term macro is used on our new Nikon P510 cameras. Also, could you send some of those rain showers our way, please.
