It Was A Rainy Day

Yesterday a rainy day and lots of activity in the yard . The birds and critters love  the rain .

This guy is very skittish and it has taken me a few years to be able to get shots like this . He was just outside our back door so I hid and made no sounds and was able to finally get a few decent shots !

They love to hammer the ground with their beaks deep  and sup up all the ants , as their beaks are in the ground their long tongue slurps up the ants  they do this on trees through the bark as well !

Cool shots of the flicker, your patience has paid off. We're still buried in snow. Predicting a melt next week. Hope so!!!

Greetings from Ohio! I'm bored to tears at work so I decided to browse your site on my iphone during lunch break. I really like the info you present here and can't wait to take a look when
I get home. I'm surprised at how quick your blog loaded on my mobile .. I'm not even using WIFI, just 3G .
. Anyhow, good site!

Love the flicker, haven't seen one in our garden yet. It is nice today and we are just taking a break from working outside.

Hello Elaine girl .. we had rain later that day and evening and it did the garden so much good .. especially after I had transplanted the tree and a few perennials .. it was a good thing I did it when I did!
Now I too have topsoil to lay down and loads of mulch as well .. good weather on the horizon so I can get this work done ! LOL
Cute bird pictures .. and rain drops on the clothes line ;-)
