Perfect fall Weather

 

That’s for sure . It has been perfect weather . Sunshine during the days with cool breezes , chilly eves , night and morning and the air is so fresh and sweet smelling of farmers fields as they harvest  their crops . The smell of wood smoke wafting through the air and the sound of the trees leaves rustling in the breezes as the crows and blue jays squawk and the other birds sing as crickets chirp all  night  and day whilst starlings hoard the land for food  with their chatter and the geese fly over in hugs flocks .

                        Love the bright blue sky’s and the big puffy clouds floating over head !

                                                                 Sunshine  beaming down .

My knock out rose bush just loves this weather . As does these pretty flowers my million bells.

            

                                           Leaves are changing and falling to the ground !

                                                      Lots of berries on our blossom tree .

Our Elder tree has lots of the  seeds ready to fly and twirl as they fall to the ground  like little helicopters lol !

                                       Bees are still busy collecting from the wild flowers !

                                Miggs napping again . She sure loves the sunshine and cool breezes  to !

                                                                     Perfect fall weather !

                       It started out rainy this morning but slowly it is clearing up and the rest of the week is to be sunny and warm .

Starry Night

 

The other night Papa was out in his sky shed or Observatory viewing the night sky's with his telescopes and taking photos . He sets his camera up on the telescope and the telescope tracks the stars and the camera takes timed exposed photos  kind of follows the stars around if you will lol .

Photos of the night sky’s ,planets and stars is called Astrophotography !

What looks like cloud in this photo is actually the milky way . This time of year is the best for viewing the night  sky’s as the fall coolness of the air keeps the sky’s clear  so stars and planets can be better seen !

  One doesn’t even need a telescope to enjoy the starry sky’s  just get a set of binoculars and you will see thousands of stars and planets more then you can with the naked eye !

              The weather has been fantastic the past week and is again today  , a bit of rain possible for tonight but the rest of the week looks to  be picture perfect again !  Sunny with cool breezes !

Building The Veggie Garden

 

Papa started on our raised veggie garden for next year early this morning . I did some house work and laundry . He did a lot of hauling and digging  and I… well… I did what I could  he is the muscle and of course Miggs …well.. she supervised and napped in between supervising lol .

Papa decided to have a camp fire going to as we have lots of wood that cant go in the wood stove to burn .

             Talking about wood…. we have lots to chop and split from the trees that were taken down !

                        

To much work for Miggs keeping and eye on us and not know which one to follow around lol

                Not only did she nap but she napped on Papa’s tools lol Sleeping on the job again Miggs ?

                        Then she decided to wake up and look for bugs whilst Papa was digging !

           Whilst Papa and Miggs took a break I did some work to help out ! Papa snuck some photos of me… cheeky guy !

                Such concentration on my face lol ! I am used to being on the other side of the camera lol !

                               

The weather was lovely and warm with cool breezes all though not cool enough for Papa after all the hauling and digging lol. The best part of the garden has been built the rest will be done come the spring as we have to let it settle and see how much it shifts if at all over the winter and spring thaw .  Next to tackle the wood another big job .

                        Yes the older you get the harder things get and the more you feel it  lol

         Done for the day and relaxing before supper . BBQ marinade steak , potatoes and Cesar salad .

Sun Set In The Valley

 

    I took these photos an hour ago and as I was here posting a flock of Canadian Geese flew over honking  and crickets chirping  as it all echo's through the coolness of the valley .. oh how wonderful . A perfect end to a perfect fall sunny day ! Music to my ears and the best movie in the world .

                                                          I love the stillness of a fall sunset .

                                         The hush…  and  yet wonderful noise from nature !

                  The orangey glow of the sun set as it bounces off the trees and deepens into the western  horizon !

             Birdies catch the last of the days rays for warmth before the chill of the night sets in !

The sweet smell of the land as a fresh cool breeze gently blows carrying in it a touch of dampness .

                     Night creatures lay in wait for their time to rome whilst all others are in for the night as the dampness and darkness cloaks the valley  !

The Tree Huggers

 

Yup that’s the name of the company that took down two big trees behind Papa’s work shop .  It has been a busy two days all because of these trees . I would rather not have to take any trees down as it is the habitat for our birdies  but some times it is unenviable and if they fall they could do damage . The trees  canopies were either dead or dying !

         A bit  photo heavy !

The guy in this boom bucket did all the cutting . It took them 8 hours to take these two trees down as he had to direct ever piece to make sure it didn't hit the shop or the wires on the other side by the road or go on to the road .

The  truck had a big wood chipper on the back and it was noisy . I love the sounds of the chain saws and the smell of all the saw dust .

                                 This is nothing compared to what's on the ground now lol .

                            Ropes all tied to guide the big trunks as they position the fall of the trees !

The huge trees  are now down and the sky’s behind Papa’s work shop are wide open ! Yesterday I was busy cleaning up all the millions of twigs and tricks that were all over our grass .

This tree trunk  is massive  they will be back to move the massive pieces some time in the next day or so . The smaller branch trunk pieces we are cutting up and put in our wood sheds to dry for the year !

The weather has been lovely lots of sunshine and cool breezes perfect for working out side and having a fire . The trees both litter the in laws side and ours so lots of tiding up …today I am resting from yesterdays raking that took me 3 hours to rake and burn all the sticks and twigs and helping Papa when he got home from work hauling all those big logs for cutting  and cleaning it up so the guys can get to the massive trunks easier . We would cut the massive trunks but we just do not have a chain saw big enough to do the job .

              So that’s what's been going on here that past day or so lots of wood  to move and chop and wonderful wood smoke floating through the yard and trapping in my clothes I love it wish I could bottle the scent .

This Mornings Dew Drops & Frost

 

       The weather here has been so lovely , warm sun and fresh fall breezes . Last night we had a light frost and this morning the temps were nippy .. I like it when the air is so fresh clear and sweet smelling of the fields and you can see your breath  and the breath of the animals .

                                      I love the way frost sparkles in the morning sun !

      Grass is sparkly to when the frost glistens in the light as each little blade hangs on to dew drops as the sun slowly melts the frost .

                                                       One by one trees change !

                                                    Some flowers are still blooming !

                                                            Whilst others  barely hang on .

                                      Moon setting in the west whilst sun rises in the east !

                                                    Miggs licking the dew off of the grass .

                                  Each little drop of frost and dew collect on ever nook and cranny !

            Bees lapping up the dew and nectar in the morning sun getting the best of both worlds !

My knock out rose bush just loves the dew and cooler temps and is still blooming !
