The weather is to get very hot and high humidity . There is a heat advisory out for the week .
Papa and I took Miggs for her spa day as she needed to get bathed and all cleaned up have her nails trimmed and get her shaved as her heavy shaggy coat was way to hot for her !

This is the closest she has ever been shaved and this groomer has been the only one that actually was able to clip her face . At first it was a shock to Papa and I when we went to pick her up and she had a bit of a shamed look on her face and felt a little exposed but she needed it to keep her cool cause even in the AC with the some what shavings she got in the past she would pant like crazy and more so with the longer fur . Last night was the first night she actually had a good sleep and didn’t pant her head off !
When she is all shaggy she looks like her dad but now she looks like her mom who was all hound !
So are you shocked yet at Miggs new do !
She now looks like my old dog Bessie I had as kid on the farm !
Miggs your still and always will be our pretty girl !

She looks like she'll be much more comfortable, that's for sure! I wish I could cool off like that! :) It's to be horribly hot and humid here next week too...we're not looking forward to that! Hope you can stay cool!

ReplyDeleteI know how hot all that hair is for poor Miggy and deep down I bet she is happy to be cooler. And as they say in the human world, when you get an unflattering hair cut.,.'oh well, it'll grow back. Don't let Miggy near any mirrors!!! What she don't know, won't hurt her!!!

Two weeks have gone by and it is growing in. Perhaps
they will have to do it again. It is hot,hot humid.
July and August is a real hot months still to go.
Teddy is doing good with me. I have given him
tender loving care big time.

ReplyDeleteOkay, add me to the list of those "wow'd" by how Miggie looks! But I have the same reaction when Charlie has the same thing done to him. I know it makes him feel much, much better and I know Miggie is feeling that same way--She'll have a beautiful coat again when fall comes and it will be perfect for the colder weather when it arrives!

ReplyDeleteWe've been watching the news and seeing how hot it is everywhere else. It's even 80+ here which is not common. Glad you found a way to cool off. I think you look cute either way :)
