Roses Can Carry Symbolic Meanings.

This was in an e-mail I get from my garden centre !   Canadale Nurseries. They send me an e-mail of info and of what's on sale !

I thought I would share it with all of you !

A red rose is an unmistakable expression of love.

White roses represent purity, honour and innocence and are often used as the  Bridal rose.

Yellow roses are used as a symbol of friendship and express joy, warmth and welcome.

There are several variations of the pink rose, perhaps because there are so many different varieties and shades of pink roses. Generally, pink roses convey gentle emotions such as admiration and gratitude.

Orange roses signify passion, desire, energy and pride.

Lavender roses convey enchantment and also express love at first sight.

Perfectly blue roses are still elusive. They cannot be achieved naturally and therefore they embody the desire for the unattainable.

Green roses (or off-white roses with shades of green) are the colour of harmony, fertility, peace and tranquility. Green roses can symbolize best wishes whether for a prosperous new life or wishes for recovery of good health.

image Black roses (or very dark red roses, as black roses do not exist naturally) represent death - both literally and figuratively.

Mixing the colours of roses together is also meaningful, as is the number of roses.

Pinks are my fave but I also like , Salmon , Orange , Yellows  and  Purples !

What is your favourite colour of Rose !

Until next time Have a  Rosie of a day !

Hi Elaine...Gee I have a hard time with a favorite rose...but I think I would have to say pink, but yellow is a close second!!
The rose is a wonderful flower, but we have Japanese Beetles that just devour the blossom and leaves, so aggravating!!
So post on Harley birthday is adorable : }!!

This is a lovely post Elaine, thanks so much. I love all those colors but I saw one recently that was kind of like a peach color with a darker tinge on the edges. It was gorgeous. Thanks for stopping by on our son's birthday post, and have a great weekend.
